Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for bass, catfish and redfish. The Allegiance II is the most reliable and lightest rods I have ever used--by far. It has 8 guides an Xtra Fast action and takes 10-17 lb mono an 10-30 lb braid. I use mine for freshwater. But with the right reel you can use it for redfish no doubt. I pair mine with a Penn sargus and it is my #1 rod and reel I use daily. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Purchased one of these rods a couple months ago. Great action love the sensitive tips and the powerful backbone of the rod. Have put a pile of flounder, reds, and specs in the boat with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Rod! I bought this rod about 4 months ago and paired it with a Penn Conflict 2500. I am new to bay fishing and this was a very nice step up. The action on this rod and reel was very impressive and I actually was able to walk the dog for the first time which was a big deal to me. I know "rookies". Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-around rod I purchased this rod for redfish, trout, and bluefish - a general all-around saltwater rod. This rod handled a fight with a 48 inch red drum without a problem. Great price for a solid rod that won't break the bank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Inshore Rod Was looking for a light weight, medium action rod to pair up with a Penn Conflict II 2500 reel for trout and redfish, and this Penn Allegience II rod perfectly fit the bill, both price and performance wise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great on Fresh Water Too! Initially I was using my friend's Penn Allegiance II rod; not for its intended inshore use, but for trolling for fresh water crappie. The rod worked so well for this purpose that I now have two of my own. Perfect feel for crappie, but with enough backbone to handle bigger fish, including bass up to 5 pounds I've taken with it thus far. This rod is a winner!
