Defective Reel

I had this delivered the end of April. I just lined the reel for the first time and it will not go on the spool correctly even after three attempts to line the spool. Not sure how to exchange the rod and reel or at least the defective reel

Reel Good, Rod Bad

On my second cast, the rod snapped about three quarters of the way up the rod. No misuse and just the second cast. I bought two 7’ combos with 4000 size reels. The second rod also snapped a few days later. The reel works well and is waterproof. Would recommend buying the reel individually and paring it with a different rod.

Strong And Durable Rod And Reel Surf Combo

I bought this rod and reel combo about two weeks ago, as an upgrade to my PENN Fierce IV Surf Combos for my shark surf fishing setup. Caught 3 big bat rays and a 5 ft long leopard shark on the combo with ease. Reel is insanely powerful, and by far one of the best reels you can get out there in the “middle to expensive” price range for PENN spinning reels. Rod is a little stiff, but it performs very well for the price of the combo and it held up well against the might of the leopard shark and bat rays with relative ease.
