Penn is a great company with quality products so I did t even think twice about it. Planning on doing quite a bit of surf fishing this year and love that I have a durable rod I can depend on now.

Reel Good, Rod Bad

On my second cast, the rod snapped about three quarters of the way up the rod. No misuse and just the second cast. I bought two 7’ combos with 4000 size reels. The second rod also snapped a few days later. The reel works well and is waterproof. Would recommend buying the reel individually and paring it with a different rod.
