Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boat for the price I added this kayak to my large fleet so I could have a spare when someone wanted to join on kayak camping trips. Overall I think this is a great boat for the price. It is easy to get in and out of and it is stable. It doesn’t track as well as I would like but a rudder can be added. The cargo space is large enough to fit the needed gear and the seat is relatively comfortable -the back is not fantastic though. It tends to get lodged if you have it positioned lower that the cockpit coaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Boat For Going the Distance I have owned this kayak for about 2 weeks. I have put about 40 miles on it, all flat-water paddling or streams with light current. I will start by saying I am 5'7" and 275 lbs. The cockpit is spacious enough to accommodate my wide stature, without making me feel like I am sitting in a bathtub. My legs are protected from sun and wind, and since I winter kayak a lot, the addition of a skirt will make it downright cozy in cold weather. I was looking for something a little sleeker and faster than my Perception America 11.0, and this boat foots the bill perfectly. I often paddle for exercise, and just the addition of the Conduit, with no other changes shaved 3-4 minutes off of my mile times. I can average over 4mph in this boat without paddling like a mad man. Just long, deep, aggressive strokes. I had put about 500-600 miles on my last boat, and that seat was like it was made for me. I would give the seat in the Conduit 4 stars. It was not initially very comfortable, but once I made some adjustments, particularly adjusting the back tension and leaning it back a bit, it became very nice. I spent 5 hours in it this past Saturday with no real complaints. The tracking of this boat is good. A bad review would call it finicky, a good review would say responsive. I will say responsive, but the slightest adjustments to seating position, leg position or leaning make a very noticeable and instant difference in the direction of travel. I have to think about paddling equally on both sides and picking a tracking point in the distance a little more than I did in my 11 foot boat, which kind of surprised me. I paddle a large river, and paddling back upstream makes the boat a little unpredictable. Eddy currents may throw the boat of either right or left rather quickly. It is not hard to recover from, but it is there nonetheless. The boat is set up for a rudder, but I do not feel this one needs one, and I do not plan to add one. Perhaps in offshore applications or places with prevailing winds, the rudder may be needed. Paddlers of different heights/weights will likely have different experiences with the handling. I like the ample dry storage, although I have not really used it yet. I will note that it seems to stay dry. I will add, for $599, this boat feels like a good buy. I paddled other boats that cost much more, and although they were nice, I did not feel the value met what you get in the Perception. This is my 3rd Perception boat, and they have all been great boats in their own ways. You can only choose whole stars here, but my honest assessment would be about 4.7 stars. The high points are the looks, the length, the storage and the SPEED. This thing is fast for a recreational kayak (it is not a touring kayak, despite what you may read). The low points so far me so far are the seat, the small tracking issues (probably just me getting used to the boat), and the foot pegs (too easy to accidentally move toward you by hitting them with the back of your foot). Bottom line: If you are looking for a very nice 13 footer on a budget, do not hesitate to give the Conduit 13.0 a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boat for the mone! This is a great boat for the islands lakes of New Mexico and Colorado! It’s very stable and quick. It packs some gear for overnighters and day trips. I recommend it for beginners to intermediate paddlers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice mid level kayak for the money. Tracking could be better. Bought this a couple years ago on sale. I am 6'2" and weigh about 170lbs. The seat is not comfortable for me - I have ended up sitting on a life jacket on longer drifting trips. Also, it does not seem to track very well: When I paddle it in a straight line and then stop paddling and let it glide, it does not go very far before turning right or left on its own. I have tried shifting my weight a little but it really doesn't help much. On the plus side, it is roomy and durable and has great capacity. It is also much faster than my shorter boat, but I do have to keep paddling if i want it to go straight through the water.... It looks like it is set up for a rudder. I think I will buy or build one for it this winter and hope it solves the tracking issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Kayak - One Tip This really is a fantastic kayak. Ive been kayaking most of my life and this is a perfect upper/middle class kayak. I have only great things to say about the 2 we purchased. They look amazing too! My only 'area for improvement' would be how ALL websites have the pictures posted for this kayak. Every picture i can find online have an optical illusion present in them. They all look like there is a snap-on deck covering bib over top the front of the cockpit! This is not the case and though it doesnt effect performance, i was a little disappointed that this was not a standard feature. As i said, not a huge deal but i really wished i knew that info; hopefully it helps you ( i remedied this by simply buying a bib that fit all the way around my cockpit rim).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Preception Conduit 13 Bought 2 of these to replace some old Dagger Vesper's. They track well and do not weather cock like the Vesper . The wife and I are retired and like the larger cockpit. This is a lot of Kayak for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Kayak This kayak is amazing! I have had 3 other kayaks a Field and steam Eagle Talon sit inside, Pelican Maverick and a Perception Swifty 11.5 deluxe. I loved the Swifty and Eagle talon Kayaks although I wanted something just a bit faster that could get me to my fishing location with less physical energy. The Conduit 13 is fast and stable cutting through waves giving you confidence through turbulent waters. This kayak is well worth the money I have found my best purchase with this boat.
