Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely satisfied Bought this for myself and 7 y.o. Took it to Buffalo River May 2016 for kayak camping. It was about level 2 status with one spot a little rougher. I was still a novice and the boat never flipped or got out of hand. My little one did a fantastic job and loved the trip!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great boat...terrible seats The boat is great. The seats are beyond terrible.Perception seemed to be baffled by my complaint but i can see by other reviews here im not alone.Sadly i ended up taking the boat back.If the seat problem can be fixed i will buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great family kayak We recently purchased this kayak and went on a family adventure with it - 2 adults and 2 children (5 and 6 years old). 3 people fit comfortably, our son (5) had to sit between mom's legs in the front - not too bad. The kayak seems to track fairly straight and we did not have any trouble with propulsion or navigation and this was the first kayak experience for any of us - Daddy (6', 210lbs) sat in the back seat and did 90% of the paddling with no issues. One thing to note is that this kayak is huuuge and fairly heavy/awkward - with that said, I am able to load/unload it by myself on top of the minivan to transport. I feel that due to the size of this kayak longer paddles are required. We bought the recommended lengths based on my wife and my heights, but they seemed too short. We are heading back to get longer paddles now. Definitely a good time and well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely happy with this purchase Extremely happy with this purchase, The team at Dick's Was very helpful and knowledgeable, making our decision much easier. We ordered the product online through a local store and it was shipped promptly, arriving in a week at our door....all 75 pounds and 13 1/2 feet of it! We've been on the lake several times and it is stable, fast, maneuverable, and fits two of us with room to spare.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perception Rambler 135 Tandem I have several kayaks. Bought this one to take my wife out and to use as either a solo or tandem when children come and friends visit. This is an excellent hull, especially so at the price. It is roto-molded meaning there are no seams. The molded in side handles are a great touch and the bow and stern cord/handle grips are excellent. The hull tracks beautifully and is still pretty maneuverable especially if paddled solo from the rear. It is very stable. You could perhaps fall off but I doubt you could flip it and even if you did it would pop right back up. It is rated at 550 lbs carrying capacity. It is pretty heavy but one should expect this from a 13.5 ft tandem. The seats, however, are awful the backs have zero rigidity. Whenever I tried to lean back on them they collapsed - no matter how tight you torque the straps. The up-grade seat sold by Dick's is even worse. However, there are some good after-market seats which should be much better. I've ordered two on-line. I'll add some accessories to make it more serviceable as a fishing platform but customizing is part of the fun. On balance the quality of the hull and the price are such that I am still happy with the purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Water in Hull Took our Rambler 135 out for its first spin last night with my wife and 3 year old (5 year old has her own wave and did awesome). The Rambler generally met my expectations and was not that difficult to paddle by myself. At the end, however, I noticed a fair amount of water in the hull. I did not notice a loose drain plug. This could be normal but is a little concerning. I am taking the boat to the lake again this week and that may let me know if there is a defect or if this is normal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Kayak is ok for the price We bought this kayak to do family trips with our sons who are 10 and 7. My wife used it at first since it was prettier than the other one we have. Unfortunately, due to the length of the kayak she was unable to steer it very well even with my son paddling up front to help. After 30 minutes we switched kayaks. I didn't have quite the same problem but I did notice that it didn't track as well as the Pelican kayak that we have which is just a little shorter and wider. So for the price ($449) it's ok but probably better for a more experienced paddler than a novice.
