Rated 4 out of 5 by from Get your poles ready! Love my kayak! It's comfortable and large enough to accommodate all my needs. Only complaint, the rod holders behind the seat or not deep enough, I lost one of my best fishing poles the first day out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very stable I bought this kayak a month ago. I have been out on the river in it a couple of times now. Pros very stable I am 6'7" and weigh around 280 and after the second trip I am able to stand up and fish. Cons no seat cushion and rod holders are shallow and doesn't hold rod well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Party Barge for fat guys Im a larger man, 6'4", 325lbs, so finding a decently priced kayak that affords me the weight limit, stability, and storage that allows me outings with family and friends without sinking the boat. This yak is perfectly priced for entry level, high weight capacity kayaks that get you on the water. While not as well-appointed as some of the more expensive kayaks, it shines in its simplicity, with its two-tier seating system, large cockpit, and stability in the water. Its lack of factory options allows for full customization. Tracks very well in the water, and very fast and stable for the size. Very happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it Pros: Extremely stable, lots of storage, and fantastic price for features(Rod holder, paddle rest, built in ruler, and anchor). Cons: Rod holders in rear are shallow and difficult to reach(I have landed a bass trolling and luckily the rod didn't get pulled out), removing gear from the hatch on the water is extremely hard due to lack of catch bag(tackle tray literally slid to the rear), and if a windy day you better hope in shallow enough water to use that anchor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb value After having owned a Perception Tribe 11.5 for a couple seasons and really enjoying it, we decided to add a fishing kayak (but also want to use it as a "regular" kayak) to the family fleet. Let me start by saying that if you are value conscious, I do not think you will be able to find a better deal for a mid-high quality fishing kayak than $499 (although I see it is now $20 less expensive than when I purchased it, bummer). You'll need to add a decent seat at somewhere in the $50-$100 range, and I would suggest replacing the front hatch with an aftermarket model for about $18 (easier to use and comes with a cat bag). Other than that, I would suggest taking it out once or twice just to paddle around, and another couple times to fish in it before making any other modifications or custom touches. Compared to our Tribe, the Striker is wider, heavier, more stable, slower, has a higher weight carrying capacity, and the tracking is not as true. All reasonable trade offs when comparing a fishing kayak to a more traditional one.
