Beginner Boat. Overpriced For What It It’s
These Yaks should be selling around the $300 to $400 mark. If you are going to spend $500 on a kayak you are better off buying a secondhand one that is vastly superior. These used to sell at $350 before Covid and of course outdoor goods have the prices jacked up and have not come back down. perception is a solid USA brand and these Kayaks are rotomoulded not injection moulded like some of the competition so they can take a beating. Sadly the high backseats are garbage and break either at the strap loop or at the base. Don’t even think of buying one of these if you weigh over 250 lbs you will break the seat as soon as you lean back on it with any kind of weight . The front foam comes unglued within a week and it’s really annoying having to stuff it back into the bowel every time you go out. Perception are aware of these issues and have failed to fix it or even supply parts to repair yourself. The kayak itself tracks okay for a relatively short kayak it is very stable and turns easily. The rear hatch is completely redundant and unnecessary as it doesn’t have a rear bulkhead and you’re better off just stuffing it behind the seat rather than using the hatch. It does float when fully submerged but only just. All in all it is a good entry level kayak for a beginner or occasional user And still better than anything comparable but be prepared to fix the above issues, better than anything lifetime or field and stream puts out but for less money you would probably be better off with a pelican 12ft than this one. Which is a shame for anybody that wants to support American companies like I do.

Great Recreational Kayak!
I originally had a LifeTime sit-on-top kayak and really enjoyed kayaking--I was a beginner last year. I didn't have any issue with the kayak but I wanted to stay dry and kayak in other seasons other than summer. My new Perception Swifty kayak is wonderful! It's so easy to paddle with this kayak. It glides through the water! The only thing is that it doesn't have great tracking, but I'm happy!

We Love These Kayaks
We bought these just as lockdowns started in 2020. These were the last 4 kayaks in the whole area. We have had so much fun and gone on many trips in the area. We have rented kayaks in the past and they were the expensive brands these ones track better and have better speed. Love the pegs and the seats are great. They have taken quite a bit of abuse and stored outside and still going strong. My 10 year olds have no trouble nor do my husband and I. My only complaint is that my husband pushed back too hard in his and broke the plastic part on his seat which means the strap that holds the seat up wont stay on and its really hard to find a replacement seat.
