All of my clubs are Ping, most have been fitted, including this 3 Wood. Updated my G30 3 wood to this and it has been a disaster. My G30 was my favourite club off the tee and the fairway, long, consistent, forgiving, light weight, looked great at address and sounded great. The shaft snapped and the Pro advised just getting this latest model due to the cost of a new shaft. At address it does not frame the ball very well and it is easy to line up slightly out of the toe or heel, the 'ball guides' are almost invisible. The club feels heavy and the shaft seems to lack that whip at impact to get the ball launching which is what I usually feel with a regular shaft. The shallow face is significantly smaller than the G30 and it seems incredibly difficult to hit it out of the middle and off centre strikes often result in alarming and unnerving fairway misses. Off the tee if I tee it up then I can pick it off okay but you have to be perfect and whilst it can be very straight the flight is quite low which is unusual for me as a high ball flighter but distance is good if you do manage to middle it. Off the fairway it is useless as the ball very often comes off the top of the face making the ball balloon up like no other club I've ever used. As another reviewer stated you probably get about 2 out of 10 good hits out of this and mishits are not forgiven. It sounds terrible, more of a dull click than a ping even when you hit it well and you can never tell from the sound when you've hit it well and the confidence soon drains with more use. If you are wondering about this review then go and have a look at the second hand market and look at the pictures of the club faces, you will see lots of ball strikes from the toe/heel plus sky marks where the ball has come off the top of the face, so I do not believe it is just me. This really is the first ever Ping club I've ever had an issue with and I can't help but think - what have you done here Ping? This club cost me a lot of money and I've been so disappointed with it, worst of all its spooked me into by Ping in the future and I never thought I'd say that.
