PING i240 Irons

|
About This Item

The Tour-inspired i240 advances PING's popular Players technology, providing added forgiveness along with the control, look and feel that will appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It’s PING’s highest-launching Players model, giving golfers more control and the ability to consistently hit their distance numbers and stop the ball close to the hole.

A new ABS badge in the true cavity-back design is 8.5g lighter, and combined with an elastomer insert allows for more perimeter weighting to increase the MOI in the mid and long irons. This helps achieve an 11% reduction in dispersion. The badge and insert contribute to a more desirable sound and a softer, responsive feel from the 431 stainless steel cast head.

Love Them

They feel so good on the face and they have good feel.

The Best Irons I've Hit.

I've had these irons for 2 months now and they are great. I have gone through a lot of sets looking for the right ones, something was always a little off until I tried the new i240 irons. Great distance for me, very accurate, absolutely love the feel of the i240's. I got them with the Ping CB Alta graphite shafts, for me those are perfect. Online I wasn't sure about the looks, but in real life they are killer. These will be in the bag for a long time.

Too Easy?

My back is screwed up. Can't swing very hard, maybe 50%. Just received these in the mail a few days ago. Stupidly forgiving. High flying. Straight. And a darn good fake forged feel. I'm impressed.

Too Early To Tell

Big Ping fan, I’ve gamed countless models and iterations. My buddy talked me out of i230’s and my Son snatched my beloved i59’s leaving me Pingless. Can’t have that so pulled the trigger on a set of i240’s. Admittedly, not enough time to in the bag to make a full review. First impressions are mixed, I find them very clicky and loud especially a little higher on the face. At this point, I don’t see improvement over the i230’s. Across the spectrum, feel, sound and dispersion. That’s no indictment, the i230’s are one of the best irons ever produced in my opinion. Really hoping with more time I can shake the cobwebs off and fall in love, fingers crossed. Everyone’s mileage may vary! If they don’t work out, next up will be the Blueprint S, we shall see.

Exactly What I Was Looking For!

I purchased the i240s shortly after their release and couldn't be happier with my decision. As iron lofts have gotten stronger over the years, launch and spin characteristics have suffered. The i240s addressed both of these concerns for me and my game has benefitted perfectly.
