Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new kind of performance As a 60 year old (4 cap) I thought I could use the built in performance boost the i500 offer. Have played S55 for 4 seasons and loved them. The new irons are definitely longer. Anyone looking to keep the same distances would benefit getting the retro loft. But if you want the distance you had years ago, standard lofts will give you the boost your looking for. One note, the shaft lengths get longer so the wedge is the same as my old s55 but the 4 iron is 3/4" longer. So be sure to check the specs with tour fitter when you order your set. These are great irons, forgiving, solid soft feel, pearcing flight and built in distance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good start I recently purchased a brand new, custom fitted, set of Ping i500 irons. On my third trip to the range the head of the 5 iron broke off. Additionally, I noticed my 4, 6, and 7, have been making a strange noise occasionally when I swing. It sounds like something is loose or rattling. I believe there is something faulty in the epoxy or an issue arouse during the build process. Either way I have been extremely frustrated considering the price tag for these clubs and the fact I didn't even have a chance to play one round before a club broke is very disappointing. After only two rounds I have sent back all the clubs for repair or reassembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall great club Just got fitted, and loved the length, feel, and the forgiveness of the clubs. I was demoing these with the i210. They were both incredible off the synthetic turf hitting area. I was leaning towards the i210. My fitter took me to a practice hole and let me hit them both off real grass. The decision was instantaneous obvious, for me and my swing the i500 was the right choice. It had a better flight, more forgiveness and slightly longer. I am a longtime Ping believer. I have had to i20, the ie1, and currently use the G400. The i500 is the best overall Ping iron I have swung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ping has done it again!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had the G 700 irons, bent to retro lofts, never ever hit and iron like that. Too big too much offset, but I loved them! Got the 500's yesterday, didn't have a chance to play with them till today. I don't know what to say, being a blade player most of my entire life, they have the offset of the I blades, but they are so forgiving, hit the ball towering high like the 700's, and go so so far, amazing clubs!!!!!! Great job Ping, you guys have knocked it out of the park this year with your equipment, hitting more good shots is more fun...……… guys are in a league of your own!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rocket Launchers! have played Ping irons my entire life... starting in 1981 with my first set of Karstens. I recently upgraded my irons from the G30's to the i500's and these are the best irons that I've ever played. I did a lot of research and read some of the complaints regarding the finish, but after hitting these, I didn't care. Yes, after 10 rounds, they look like I've played 50 but it's just cosmetic. I had also read some negative reviews about gapping issues but resolved that during my fitting with loft adjustments. The ball flight and spin is awesome! The ball shoots off the face and feels great! You can craft different shots with ease... draw or fade on command. I have total confidence with these irons and they're helping me to take more money from my friends... helps to offset the cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Iron!!! These are forgiving, long and forged. My top 3 things I look for when testing out irons and these check all three and are amazing!! I got them retro-spec'ed so they are the same loft as my Forged PING ANSER's back from 2013 and they go an extra 7 yards and even higher which is fantastic. Feel is a big concern with me as I like the forged soft feel, and these feel great! They are soft from the forged face and I've been waiting for PING to release another forged club for while and these do not disappoint. Even on off center hits or the thin shots I don't seem to lose but maybe 5-10 yards which is awesome. I would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting a soft feel with explosive distance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft feel high ball flight. I'am 60 and have been playing Ping golf clubs exclusively for the past 40 years and currenty own 54 sets of all the different ping irons they made as my collection. I recently have played the G400 Irons and liked them until I tried the G700 irons. I now purchased the I500 Irons and love them more then any other club due to the ball flight and soft feel. Great clubs glade you brought back the Forged feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unreal Been hitting blades all my life, first set was titleist 680MB, then 695mb, and have had a set of 710 ap2s in my bag since 2008. This was the first club where I was able to hit 5 balls and instantly know that these will satisfy my needs. I live in Iowa and the spring and fall winds can be brutal but i had no problem hitting stingers and punch shots with them. If your on the fence go grab demo club and head to the course.
