Great Idea But Set Up A Little Tricky

As we set up the cones, we had to ensure the receivers and transmitter were facing the right direction. The 4 settings are great once set up!

Training Cones

We received these a week ago and have found them to be a nice variation for soccer training. The cones are not overly sturdy so the sensors are somewhat difficult to balance them. The sensors are were very touchy and hard to pair sometimes and would occasionally disconnect and need to be repaired. Once they were operational, they were fun for my girls to run through their drills. (Note that each sensor take 3 AA batteries so stock up!)

Batteries

The set up time for this device took way longer than necessary. The sheer amount of screwing and un screwing to put in a crazy amount of batteries is a little unnecessary. The overall use it very clunky. As a soccer player, we are not perfect. We occasionally hit those cones and the set up has to be perfectly aligned to work properly. Once up and running it is enjoyable until you hit that cone. All 4 modes are great and work semi-efficiently.

My son and some friends in our neighborhood were playing soccer in our yard when I asked them to try this out. It worked as stated in the manual, but they didn't see a need for what it offered. They said it was no different than just setting up cones, and then went back to playing in the yard. I think it would be valuable in a situation where players were going through training stations independently or if timing matters.

Gimmicky

It was a cool feature to add a pop to encourage my kids to work the cones for their soccer drills, but it didn't really add too much value to their training. I think they'll keep using them because of the gimmick aspect; however, which is great to get them out there. I think the product could be better if it had a timer piece to it- i.e. if they can get through the weave in a certain amount of time before the buzzer. That would increase the interaction with them, and that'd make it more of a game than just self-driven play.
