I have tried just about every advertised technology for my significant lower back pain caused by damaged disks. This belt is really the only thing in my arsenal of products that relieve the pain in a very short amount of time. I set the timer for 30-45 min's but start getting relief within 5-10 min's. I use a gel to slightly lubricate the 4 pads which I find works very well for me, but you can also dampen the pads with water. This sure beats trying to position individual pads that are hard to attach, don’t last but a few usages and don’t work near as well as this belt does. Frankly, I would have "a great deal of trouble" getting thru many days without this belt. I keep a spare at all times…just in case of an unexpected issue. Ps: I was not given anything to share my personal experience on this product that I have used for well over 5 yrs. I recently did buy a new one as my original finally started to experience an intermittent issue with one channel. But frankly, I would easily buy one "every yr" if I had to, especially at the modest price.
