Rated 2 out of 5 by from bait cast reel fell apart I bought a couple of months ago and took it out just last week for a fishing trip and when I was just sitting there with my rod over the water out of nowhere I herd a splash i thought it was a fish but no it was part of my reel. The piece opposite of the little handles you reel in with fell completely off! What kind of constriction of the reel is that?! Now I have to buy a complete new baitcasting reel! Wouldn't buy again, but so far the actual rod is decent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First baitcaster it's great I bought this as a cheap first baitcast combo bc it was on sale for 45 so why not.. I'm blown away this thing is great and feels nice in the hand. Reel feels smooth and is nice overall rod I recommend this rod! For a first time baitcaster!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not bad Not bad at all I wouldn't listen to the rest of the haters here, about the combo. Quantum is actually a fishing company, and I have KVD Tour reel and it's just amazing, this reel is not that bad, I catch a majority of my fish on there combo, and it works well with cranksbaits, and soft plastics. This combo, I recommend for those who are looking for something cheap and works well. If you take care and acknowledge the type of combo this is and use it to what it is made to use like the rod being 6'6 and Medium Heavy, (Moderate Action I think not totally sure), use lures and baits thats are made to for the type of rod, and the reel is 6:4:1 so that's just something to keep in mind. Quantum is a decent company, I plan to use their reels and combos more now. Yet Quantum, Abu Garcia, Shimano, Lews, (Have not used Daiwa), are all great companies to but casting rods and reels from (Combos from my experience, it's just what you use with that rod and reel that makes a good impact on performance and especially how you take care of it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage This rod and reel is unreliable and cheap. I was in a tournament and it broke and I will never buy another quantum rod or reel. I'm a young fisherman and I like to have fun on the water. I use my hard earned money on this and I got a broken pole and money down the drain. I recomend the Abu Garcia rod and reel combos . They will not break a month after the purchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Absolute Trash I bought this combo a couple months ago because well....it was cheap. I had purchased other cheap combos from Dicks such as the abu garcia black max (which is an awesome combo), and so I figured I would add this one to my arsenal. First of all, let me say that the rod is fine. It isnt super sensitive or anything, but it gets the job done and loads up well. However, the reel is a different story. The reel felt nice and smooth in the store, but after one or two outings, it was not nearly as smooth, and it was falling apart. Less than five times into using it, the levelwind broke and it was no longer useable. I am currently waiting on Quantum to send me the parts. I recommend you save up the additional 5 bucks and get the Abu Garcia Blac Max which is an infinitely better rod/reel combo.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal finesse setup Bought this a couple days ago as I was looking for a finesse rod so I could use my 7ft (more expensive) rod as my crankbait rod. This rod may not fish like a $200 setup, but for the price it goes above and beyond what I expected. Being 6'6 and paired with light braid I had phenomenal feel and leverage of my soft plastics when I took it out smallie Fishing last night. The rod is relatively sensitive for a medium heavy, and with the light braid I felt like I could feel hits and structure very very well. I'm satisfied with this products quality for as cheap as it is. Reel is slower than I am used to.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's ok The rod is pretty decent. The real is probably ok with basic mono or fluorocarbon line, but it doesn't take braid very well. It may do better with lighter braid, but I use no less than 50lb. I have only used braided line with this reel, so I'm not really sure how it does with mono or fluorocarbon. It's probably a good cheap rod for newbies when it comes to baitcasters, or it may just tick you off and make you never want to use a baitcaster ever again.
