More Like A Slender Boat-flatter Keel Makes It Harder To Paddle Straight And Holes Hinder Pace

Does not track well at all. The bottom portion of a kayak should be tappered. This helps it stay in a straight line when you maneuver and paddle forward. The bottom of this kayak is more like a boat, meaning its flatter and is very hard to keep straight. There are two holes in the rear of the kayak/boat. These slow it down significantly. They also create a LOUD gurrgle glug glug gurrgle sound the fast you paddle. So, your serene trip turns into a noisy outing-scaring away everything. So, its cheap and comfortable to sit it but you'll use a lot of energy trying to paddle this thing around. Good option for a budget friendly small boat to paddle around in. Bad option if you are serious about kayaking and want miles under your belt. Once you get in a kayak that is tapered more with a slender tapered keel, you'll have a hard time enjoying this one.

Exceeded Expectations

I purchased my first Quest Canyon100 in August 2024 (azure fusion) and was immediately pleased with stability and ease of handling. This economy kayak features no "bells and whistles", but a few careful modifications made this the perfect beginner/intermediate unit for lake paddling and river floating. Tracking is reasonably good and storage on bow and stern are more than sufficient for recreational use. The cockpit has plenty of room for an easily accessible dry bag and extra PFD. I ordered a second Canyon 100 in my preferred color, emperor fusion, as it was on sale. I'm excited to have both kayaks to further modify for fishing and to share with others who have an interest in leisure watersports.

Great Kayak For Beginners

This was a Father's Day gift for my fiance. He actually picked it out in the store before I bought it and I purchased it buy online pickup in store. The pickup experience was super easy. We had the kayak out last weekend and had zero issues. It performed exactly as expected and was easy to maneuver for a first time kayaker. I have to admit, I'm a bit jealous his kayak is that awesome blue color and mine is red! My only criticism is that the water bottle holder doesn't have a bungee cord to secure it.

Great Bargain

I was pleasantly surprised how well this worked for the price. Not the fastest, but I was able to keep up with others who had top of the line kayaks. Tracks well, good seat but you might want to add a cushion. One issue is the screw for the right side paddle line is in the exact wrong place for me, so my right hand hurts it half the time. Foot rests are stationary molded plastic but there are four of them so I was able to find two for different positions.
