Rated 5 out of 5 by from I don't ever review things, but I will this!!! Please do yourself a favor and don't buy the cheap 30-50 dollar paddles. Buy yourself this fiberglass quest for 70 and you won't regret it. I personally regret getting the models underneath this because I broke one of their less expensive paddles in the middle of one of the finger lakes in NY, and half sunk, leaving me with half a paddle 2 feet in length, as a 6 ft tall guy setting on an on too kayak rowing miles home. My friend added insult to injury holding this quest fiberglass paddle under the water, then watching it float back to the surface. I now have one and use it as hard as I want to as a 300 lb guy and it works great. GO WITH THIS PADDLE!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for serious or advanced paddlers It's a decent paddle for casual use, as long as you don't try to paddle hard, or for many hours (heavy). Pros: Can be cheap if you find it on clearance (40% off). Cons: Heavy - 31oz is towards the heavy end for fiberglass paddles. Cavitation when paddling hard - This is a significant problem that prevents efficient strokes when pushing hard. Cavitation (aka ventilation) occurs when air is sucked in behind the paddle during a stroke, so only the front face of the paddle providing resistance against the water. Too much energy is wasted churning water and not "gripping" the water. Digging the paddle deeper or paddling slower helps, but this doesn't seem to be a problem with a werner paddle I tried.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the perfect match I used my new force paddle & Pereption sports Rythym11 kayak today on 4 local ponds and had one my best days ever on the water landing 1 bass weight in @ 7 lbs even and another true hog (bass) weight in @ 10+ lbs my fishing buddie & I bought matching boats & matching force paddles a couple weeks ago and have been going stir crazy waiting for good enough weather to put them to the test! So far we are both very happy with both items we purchased @ Dick's sporting goods in Carbondal, IL. We can't wait for the water to warm up a bit to see how these items work in whitewater doing rollovers & uprighting our selfs. 4-02-2013 will be etched in my personal great days ! I would have attached the photos but we have had techical problems retreiving the pictures from my E-mail :(

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Can't wait till spring. I used to kayak when we had lakefront property, but when we moved to Hastings I thought there wouldn't be enough water to justify keeping the kayaks. Well, there is plenty of water so at Christmas I was surprised w/2 kayaks. In March we purchased the paddles. They are light weight, comfortable in my smaller hands and the paddle makes it easy to direct to the kayak. I am thrilled with it. My 10 year old grandson also kayaks w/me and has had no problem getting used to using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great paddle especially for the price!!! Paddle is very good quality, like the fact that you can adjust the angle to your own liking, has 3 adjustable positions now that I used it a few times I know which hole to snap into when I assemble the paddle for use. Great for transport too that it comes apart with the touch of a button and can easily put both ends in the back of my truck with the rest of my kayak and fishing gear. Paddle is light but sturdy really glad I got it and would certaily recommend purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the Weight makes a difference I have some basic aluminum kayak paddles that came with my used kayaks. Thought I deserved something better but did not want to pay too much. looked around and everywhere I looked fiberglass paddles started well over $100. Found this one at Dicks store and it did not seem that much lighter, but when I took it to the lake and used it , I noticed a big difference.I have had pain in my shoulders when paddling for years, but it is much less with this lighter paddle

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good starter paddle at a reasonable price Just purchased as replacement for higher cost paddles. I will say up front, I am not one of the people who is "nice" to my equipment. This paddle will be used in Midwest shallow, wide rivers, with little or no rapids, but plenty of strainers and submerged sand bars, This means it will dig bottom by necessity. If you are a beginner, buy something aluminum for this use. But for open freshwater and near shore salt water, this will be an excellent buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant product for the money Getting back into kayaking after many years and with some neck issues, I wanted a lighter paddle. For the money, this fits the bill. At 5'6", the 210 cm length was recommended and though I kinda wish I'd gotten the 220, the shorter paddle with those wondrous drip rings works great! I kayak on the Russian River where the water goes from deep to shallow quickly and there are hazards galore. This gives me all the control I need.
