Versatile And Stable Entry Level Kayak

I’ve had this kayak for exactly two weeks now, and it has lived up to my expectations. I have only put 23 miles on it, but the versatility is no joke. For the first 12 miles, I did quite a few short paddles with a lot of fishing. Some of these trips were on still water and others were on faster current that I had to paddle upstream through. It tracks well and was stable through boat wakes on the Upper Niagara River. The next 11 miles was one big trip with some buddies to a faster moving river. Little did I know, we ended up running into high class III and low class IV rapids, and this kayak held up extremely well. My friends did the trip in a 16’ canoe and a 10’ sit-in kayak, and the Quest Teton 100 outperformed both of their boats because of the scupper holes that allowed water to drain out. Although I can’t recommend doing something like this in any situation with any sit-on-top kayak, this trip served as a testament to the durability and capabilities of this kayak in extreme and unexpected situations. The dry-well compartment only took on water when the entire kayak was submerged underwater through the rapids and when I inevitably flipped after getting caught in an unexpected hole. Although I haven’t yet done a trip that lasted longer than a day with this kayak, I tested the storage capabilities by filling it with all of my backpacking gear. It might be a tight squeeze for anything more than a week’s worth of gear, but I think that it is perfect for its intended purpose. The seat that this kayak comes with is comfortable for a good while, but after multiple hours you might end up in a bit of pain. The seat doesn’t lift off of the plastic on the boat enough, but simply adding a sit-pad underneath or on top of the seat fixed any pain. Overall, this kayak has exceeded my expectations in pretty much every category. It is great on fishing trips with the built-in rod holders and takes abuse like a champ when you’re caught in a tough situation. For the price, I think that this kayak has a lot to offer (especially when on sale). If you’re looking for an entry level fishing kayak that you can use and abuse, this is the right choice.

Great For The Price And Good For Fishing.

I enjoy the kayak so far. It’s has stability and works for what I bought it for.

Excellent First Sit On Top Kayak.

This is my first sit on top and I was a little nervous being 6'6 but its very stable. Not enough to stand in but that doesn't matter to me. Only issue is the so called water proof storage bag is definitely not water proof. But I fixed it by inserting an actual waterproof bag inside it. Overall a solid kayak and the sale price was too good to pass up.

    Light Weight But Super Durable.

Bought this kayak for my daughter to upgrade hers from a beginner type. It is easy to maneuver even in stronger currents. Easy to fish from and easy to just relax and enjoy the outdoors without worrying about tipping over.

    Decent Kayak

Good kayak for a beginner. Have low expectations for the waterproof locker based on previous reviews but at least know that going in. Kayak easy for 2 people to carry w/ handles on each end. Pretty stable.

    Missing Part

i bought this on Monday March 23, 2026, did not come with a manual, went on line and found it so I'm missing the part for the seat

Great Product But The Seat Might Be Wrong

The kayak is great! It's the perfect length and weight and there's enough room for my dog to sit in the front. The only thing that's weird is the seat has two bungee straps on it that according to the instructions, are supposed to clip to somewhere on the kayak to help keep the seat back steady and keep it from folding forward. There are no clips on the kayak. There's no alternative place to even hook the bungee cords. I believe the seat that was attached to the kayak when I purchased it was not the one that was intended to come with it. It works fine, in that it snaps into place and fits correctly, it just doesn't have any place for the bungee supports to clip. Great brand. Love the color!

    Not Bad

Used non calm water pretty nice little kayak. Material is soft and scratches easily. Fairly stable but not great. Tracks well

    Backup Sit On Kayak

Bought this because it was easier for some of our friends ti get in when the water level was low. Also great for retrieving dogs that swim away from the dock. Stabil enough for the small child to sit in as well while going for a paddle.

    Junk

Absolutely horrible. Fills up with water. We've checked repeatedly to make sure the drain ports are tightly closed, but it still takes on water after short periods of time.

Great Value For A Solid Recreational Kayak

We bought this kayak for my wife, who wanted a sit-on-top kayak to keep her (mostly) dry. Dick's had a great deal on this one and it checked the boxes we were looking for: sit-on-top, fishing pole holders, and a very accessible drywell.

    Awesome Kayak!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't been kayaking in years and my old one was very heavy -- too heavy for me to get it on and off my roof rack. It was also a sit in, which was fine, but I prefer the sit on top. This kayak is so easy to lift and maneaver, both in and out of the water. I also bought it on sale, so it was an even better buy, although the regular price is still a great bargain!

    Good Beginning Kayak

Good kayak for a beginner kayak fisher. Balance is a touch off.
