Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Trapper Great product for use in Salt or Fresh Water. Much more durable than the traps we used as kids.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple but works. Bait the trap with bread and now have an ample supply of bait daily. Occasionally will catch an eel used that is the perfect striped bass size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be your own bait shop. I have been using these barrel type minnow traps for more than 20 years, and the galvanized versions are about the best of the lot. I do most of my trapping in brackish water, where galvanized traps will last more than twice as long as the vinyl coated ones, although they will also eventually rust out. As others have noted the included closure clip is pretty much worthless, as it is awkward to apply correctly and if it isn't hooked up right will result in the loss of bait or even half the trap. I use simple twist ties to close my traps, and a brass snap clip hooked through a couple of wire loops to tie off with. This system is quick and easy, and I never lose bait or part of my trap. Properly placed these little traps will give you an endless supply of live bait and will quickly pay for themselves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Chub Trap !!! I finally got tired of avoiding water snakes and broken glass etc etc. I purchased one of the ranger traps and on my first day of use I caught somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 to 75 large chubs and probably 10 dozen bass minnows. Over $100.00 worth of bait in less than four hours. Here is a secret recipe for bait (shh) any brand of soft American cheese and crackers!(Velveeta) and (Saltines). Mix into a ball and hang in a bait bag. (Garlic sack) Works excellent thanks ranger and Dick's

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Trap To Catch Snakes Purchased to trap snakes that were in my backyard goldfish pond. Worked great. I caught 2 snakes within 48 hours. I was concerned the snakes would find the holes and escape, but they never seemed to notice that. The only problem I have is in releasing the snakes from the trap. The pin that holds the two pieces together is very stiff and a bit of a struggle to pinch together to remove it. But that is better than a weak pin that would let snakes escape.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pretty straight forward I very rarely fish with livebait, mostly only use it for laker season. My last minnow trap came apart on the retrieve and half was lost in the lake so I had to get a new one. I use this to catch juvenile kivers for laker bait, have to clip the entry holes a little bigger with a wire cutter to allow slightly bigger baits to get in the trap but basically it does what it's supposed to do
