Decent Glove, But Shallow Pocket For A Youth Player Just Learning

My now 11 year old son has been using this glove for 2.5 years. It did take a while to break in. Kept beating it with a mallet and oiling it and it finally formed. It took longer than I expected though. He dropped a lot of balls with this glove at first. The pocket is shallow so the ball would bounce out if he didn't close the glove just right. I know that a trappeze web is intended to be shallow for quick ball transfer, but this is too shallow. He got used to it and now he does just fine with it. The Rawlings GG Elite line is a great starting point for a quality glove intended for a youth (9-12yr old) player. I would buy again, but I wouldn't get this model with the trapeeze webbing because the pocket is just too shallow. I'd go for more of an H webbing design.

Great Glove!

Bought this for my son and he really likes it. It has a high quality feel to it and broke in well after a steaming.

Perfect For My 9 Year Old

It took a little while to break in, but after a few weeks of conditioner and playing catch, it's broken in beautifully. My son loves it. I find it to be a great go between right now. Not quite the $300 HOTH, but much better quality that a standard.

Rawlings 11.5” Youth Gg Baseball Gloves

It does not have much cushion so if someone throws at 55 to 60 mph, hand hurts.

Great Quality Glove Just Very Stiff

I bought this glove for an 8 yr old and it's very stiff. I have conditioned andbeat it with a mallet and it's having a hard time loosening up. My dude love it but it's to still. I will have to keep working on it until he can close it. Awesome glove!!

Good For Older Kids

This is a nice glove, which breaks in very well. I have been able to get the glove really soft and in a good shape. However, my 8 year old still has a hard time closing it. This is even with him doing two in the pinky. It appears that his fingers just aren’t long enough to close this size of glove. It will be a great glove for him to grow into, but just a little too stiff/big for a younger kid. It would probably work great for a 10 year old.

Horrible

We have been breaking it in for months and barely any break in. Horrible for 10-11 year olds dont recommend

Solid Youth Glove & Easy Break-in

This is a solid youth baseball glove! My older son has used his for a couple years and is holding up well. My younger son just got his and it broke in pretty quickly with playing solid catch for a few days. He even used it in a game within a week of purchase which I was nervous about but glove worked out just fine.

Breaks In Nice!

My 12yo son had a hard time at first with closing the glove, until we beat the crap out of it with a wooden mallet designed to break in leather gloves. A-okay now!

Glove

Great glove fits..son loves it. Perfect purchase!!

Nice Glove

This glove can be broken in as opposed to reviews stating otherwise. We used Rawlings glove conditioner and wrapped with ball. Repeat this process with regular use catching. Someone stated their AAU/Club son dropped many balls with this glove and rated it 1. Might not be the glove:) My 10 yr old Rec son hasn’t dropped one yet.
