We Love The Colors
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is a fast pitcher and both my husband and I practice regularly with her. We previously were using old hand me down catchers gear. This chest protector is so much easier to put on and off. It’s stays in place I don’t have to keep adjusting it. When the ball hits the vest the impact is stopped and not felt. Nicely made and great color combo.

Great Protector Ever

It’s awesome good with ultra lightweight coming with an adjustable sternum plate and padded shoulder caps for added protection! Moreover, This Umpire's chest protector features a new vest style mesh back and extra wide elastic straps for breathable comfort and best fit. Quality Equipment For Baseball Enthusiast
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I play baseball in a men's league and I'm the designated catcher. I've used several types of chest projectors before but this was my first time trying the Rawlings brand. From someone who wears lots of sporting equipment, I am very happy with this Rawlings Velo chest protector.
This particular version is available in two sizes - intermediate and adult. I'm 5'11" and 200lbs and tried the adult size. It fit very nicely around my stomach, chest, arms, shoulders and back. There are two adjustable straps that hook from the lower back to the lower stomach area. The back is also adjustable to fit snug over the upper back and shoulder area.
As for the padding, it is placed in the right locations, in my opinion. There is extra thick padding protecting the upper chest down to the stomach, with lighter padding on the sides and upper shoulder area. Being right handed, there is also an adjustable velcro shoulder pad for my throwing arm. I've taken a few foul balls off my chest and I can confirm that it does its job.
Despite the tough padding, the chest protector is very lightweight. It doesn't affect my stance or throw in any way. The inside material is also mesh and breathable, which helps keep me cool and dry.
I am very pleased with this Rawlings Velo chest protector. It's designed very well, made with quality material, fits nicely, and offers great protection. Rawlings is a very reputable baseball brand and equipment like this shows why.
