Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Good Product I play woman's college softball and had lost my Rawlings glove that I had for 7 years. The new glove I bought was a Nokona (known for its difficulty in breaking in the leather). I've used this product twice now for breaking in gloves and it breaks in the glove decently well. Although, you may need to repeat the treatment 2-3 times and play catch with it afterward. It also darkens the leather by about two shades. Overall, this product defiantly speeds up the process of breaking in a new glove. Does its job and would buy this product for a third time if needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great break-in Kit We purchased this to break in my sons Wilson A950. I also used it to break in my Muzino Classic Pro soft glove. Kit was great. The only thing I wish was that there was more of the break in oil. It was perfect for one glove, but needed a little more for the second.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from So-so product. Was expected more! In my 40+ years of living, I have only oiled 2 or 3 gloves. Some say that it takes several treatments. However, when I oiled gloves in my life, I did it only once. With this product, my son and I did 3 applications and it did soften the glove a little bit but not as quickly or effectively as 1 treatment with oils, from what I recall. Ended up buying "HOT GLOVE" where you rub a foam into the glove and put it in the oven for only a few minutes. After only 1 treatment, it really soften the leather. Planning on doing another treatment but was amazed at the difference after just 1 treatment. With all that, this product (Rawlings) is a mediocre product. They also say that the plastic ball (softball-sized) that it comes with is for both softball AND baseball but my 10 yr old thinks that using a regular baseball is better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in USA, enough said There were 4-5 competing products on the shelves which could do the same thing. I chose this as it is made in USA. Only performed one application and a 24 hr strap on the mitt before taking it to the field. Works well. I believe the break-in formula bottle has about two more applications left. I liked the plastic ball for mitt forming, rather than leather or the wooden ones made in China.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than back in the day... Back in the day, we used to break in baseball mitts by sticking a shot-put in the pocket, wrapping it tight, and submerging it in water overnight. After letting it dry out, we'd untie it and oil it with shaving cream. Toss a baseball into the newly formed pocket a few hundred times and, presto, you had a new mitt with a great pocket.Modern times call for better methods. Rawlings has a kit that forgoes the water (bad for the leather anyway) and gives you all the tools to create that great pocket. The kit is worth it for the band that goes around the glove all by itself. Add in the right-sized (plastic) ball and "break-in" oil and you have the modern day version of the old school method. We just used this on my son's Wilson (sorry Rawlings) mitt and it worked great. He will continue to put the ball in the pocket and the band on the glove whenever he packs it so it stays perfectly formed.Well worth the money. Highly recommend it....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rawlings Glove Break-in KIt Everything we needed to do the job of preparing to break-in a new glove was included in the Rawlings Gove Break-in Kit. I liked the idea of using an oversized, plastic ball as the object to mold the pocket of the glove around and the sponge applicator was also a good thing to have. Overall a good product that was well thought out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised Applied this to my new Rawlings leather glove and played catch with it twice since. I can already feel the difference. It does seem to darken the leather slightly but it's even all over the glove so it doesn't bother me at all. Bottom line. Product works as described. You will need to play with the glove to break it in fully.
