Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pop I’ve been using this bat for 3 years or 5 adult league seasons. I’m on my third bat, they seem to last about 2 1/2 seasons before I break them. That’s one game and one practice each week. This bat has a nice sweet spot. I broke one last week, next at bat hit one over with my back up bat, but still purchased another Big Stick. I see a lot of complaints of people breaking them, I think that’s user error. It’s a great bat for the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I expected a quality bat, but quickly regretted this purchase. Even as a player with years of wooden bat experience, this maple bat broke on the very first swing. It may have been just a fluke, but for me, it was extremely disappointing, especially considering there is no guarantee on wooden bats. And it's just too expensive to purchase another one of these bats to test it and find out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pop good, grain orientation vs label position?, durability...we'll see just bought this bat 243mu, noticed that the label is on the edge grain which is 90 degrees different than many other wood bats. if our bat is swung "label up" the ball will strike the flat grain of the bat instead of the edge grain . the grain orientation is easy to see at the end of the bat. 'don't know if all these bats have this label orientation or if ours is a fluke. this may be related to the frequency of breakage reviews?. my son used the bat for the first time today making sure to hold the bat so the edge grain contacted the ball (the label was facing the backstop, not up.) and checking the contact marks. Bat had a lot of pop in this orientation and my son (5'-10"/~180) loved it. It is wood, wood bats are not indestructible. ours may still break even oriented properly...especially if it is struck on the end where it is easiest for cracks to start and run...but the grain orientation matters for wood strength and fracturing. I'm assuming that is going to take a while for my son to learn to reliably orient the bat for each swing, kids never had to pay attention to it with aluminum bats. durability? first 20 hits in BP, 4 or 5 rockets, still in good shape...we'll see

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Durable Wood Bat I bought this for my sons wood bat tournament a year ago and he's still been using it since. He's now in high school and is still able to hit deep shots with this bat against older opponents, and he's a freshman. Would recommend to kids who want a slight end weight bat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hot wood bat I bought this wood bat for my 14 year old to use in a fall wood bat tournament. Young kids have a tough time hitting with wood bats and the ball doesn't seem to pop off of them nearly like off the composite bats, but this one was different. He had a number of hard line drive shots and the bat seemed to have some pop. It was a little pricey knowing it could break but we had a good experience our first tournament with it.
