It seems to be a good helmet. It has protected him in the past when a fastball has struck him. The flap is adjustable. It's the second one we purchased; the first one cracked after getting hit in the head too many times.

Fragile Face Guard

Face guard broke the first time I tried to adjust it -- really bad design with a flimsy plastic joint. Wish they still made a non-adjustable one for people who just care about safety.
