Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bat cracked within 3 weeks! Bought this composite bat because of its -12 drop. My son was so excited about the weight and feel of this bat. Within 3 weeks, it has multiple cracks. Called Dicks, and the local store actually said they would refund the $149 price tag! However, my son really liked this bat when it wasn’t broken, so I called Rawlings and sent it back with the warranty. Rawlings was nice enough to cover the shipping- I would hope so, it was barely 3 weeks! My son is 10, and weighs about 100 Pounds. He didn’t beat the bat up, it should be able to withstand normal use. Very disappointed. I hope the replacement lasts! Will update once that is received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COMPOSITE BATS NEED TO BE BROKEN IN TO PERFORM THE BEST A question for those that say their bat cracked or has no pop: Did you break in the bat first? The answer is probably no. New composite bats should be broken in after purchase, meaning you have to start off hitting lightly off a tee, then gradually work your way up with stronger swings off of pitching machines, rotating the bat a quarter turn in between swings. This process requires at least 200 swings. There are many articles and videos out there that explain how to do this properly. Alloy bats are "hot off the wrapper" and can be used immediately. Composite bats need to be broken in to get the "trampoline effect" and reach maximum potential. This is one of the few drop 12 USA bats out there, so if your son is a contact hitter looking for a lighter USA bat to get a quicker bat speed, this is a great option. Just understand that you need to break it in before using it in a game. It is also recommended not to use composite bats below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fine bat, but wrong size I bought this for my sons Little League baseball team. I was not aware that there was a size limitation on the type of bat he could have and I was disappointed that the sales clerk did not tell me to make sure I have the right size before I used it. When I went to return it after finding out it was the wrong size, they would not let me return it because it had been “used“. That meant the wrapper was off. . So I spent a fortune on a baseball bat that is not usable and not returnable. I would think that the people at the store would have warned me or at least advised me a little better. Especially when spending that kind of money On such a simple object.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good weight. I bought this a few weeks ago and my son is doing really well with it. 3 other parents on the team went out and got the exact same bat after trying this one out. It is one ounce lighter than his other bat and it makes a difference.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware!!!! Weight is Misrepresented!!! Bought this bat for my 7 year old. Went from a 15 oz. bat to this "16oz. bat". My son had a hard time swinging the bat. So on a hunch I weighed the bat and is is 17.5 oz, not the 16 oz. bat that it says it is. Now I know weights can fluctuate when you add the grip on and all our other bats are .25 oz to .50 oz over the stated weight but this is a full 1.5 oz. I contacted Rawlings and they basically said I am beat. I am not looking for a free bat I was only looking to replace it with a smaller oz bat so my son can swing it. I will NEVER buy another Rawlings product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bat for the price! I got this bat for my 10 year old and he likes it better than the Easton Ghost X Hyperlite he out grew from last season. Fellow, this bat performs as the USA standards intended. I'm sorry your little guys aren't getting it out of the infield this year. It's not that the bat has no "pop" as you all like to call it, it's improper batting technique/skills not the bat. When your kids learn how smash one to the fence with a wooden bat, they'll get that "pop" with any bat . Problem is, you all can't buy your kids big $ " hot" bats that are twice as strong as wooden. Now the field is more even and kids have to learn to hit proper. I suggest you spend your money on proper hitting lessons, because you can't buy them skill masking bats any longer! It's been a long time coming too, thank you, USA standards will bring skills back to the forefront, not how much cash you can spend to make your kid seem better than they really are.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bat cracked I purchased this bay on 5-18-18 and bought it since it had a good drop and was a 2-5/8". The bat seemed to lack pop and then it cracked a week ago on the sweet spot. I have since returned the bat to Rawlings. I think the problem is with the cheap end cap design which allows the bat wall to give. Another teammate on my sons tournament team also has this same bat and has stopped using it since it seems dead. Over the weekend my son used his teammates bat and sweet spotted a fastball which barely made it thru the middle. Several parents I spoke to said it sounded like the bat was dead when the ball was hit. Unless both my son and his teammate both hjave defective bats I would not buy this. Rawlings will be sending a replacement bat and we'll try it once again but I have a feeling this will become his BP bat. My son is 10.
