I noticed that the bass in the pond I was fishing were chasing sunnies and scarfing them up so I grabbed one of these poppers that had bright gold on it with some white and blue. Seemed to mimic a sunny pretty well. My first cast I let it sit there for about 20 seconds, then gave it a few twitches and a bass nailed it. I let him take it then set the hook. I landed a 3 pounder. I couldn't be happier. A good bargain too at $9.99 for 3 poppers and I had coupons and discounts so they were even cheaper. It is probably why this was the last one in the store. Going to try it again soon!

Rated 3 out of 5 by PJSIII from Good lure, weak hooks! I bought this lure pack a couple of weeks ago in an attempt to catch some peacock bass here in SW FL. So far, no peacocks, but the largemouth bass have been crushing it. I actually caught two bass on one cast, one on the front hook and one on the rear. Sounds great, but there is a problem. The hooks do not stand up to this action. After 4-5 bass, at least one and usually several hook points are bent outward to an extent that they will not hold a fish that bites. After the first trip, I have made sure to bring a pair of needle nose pliers to bend the points back. That's a solution, but a quality lure from a quality manufacturer should not require this level of maintenance.

We cast, let it sit, pop it, let it sit, repeat and have had plenty of interest from Large Mouth, Pickerel, Yellow Perch and others. Since purchasing, I do not think I have been out that I did not use this lure for at least a few cast and I nearly always finish the day with it. Easily my most productive lure. It has even performed well on windy-choppy days. No negatives yet.

I've had them out at my favorite local fishing spot a bunch already, and they have landed me at least one large mouth bass on each outing. They work great first thing in the early morning, while the fish are top feeding. Next season, I will be stocking up on more to add to my tackle box.

The days we went out, it was slightly cold and the fish were running deeper, so I'm still waiting for the next chance to use them when I go to Florida for the winter. Probably buy more lures before I leave here after Thanksgiving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tprice from Best Popper This is a great popper to use over submerged grass, around docks, and around pads. This bait flat out catches fish. If you aren't catching fish, you must be fishing in a puddle because this bait always will draw a strike.
