Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shocked! I bought this rifle in 223 a few months ago. I didn't bother with the cheap scope that came on it... I just put good glass on from the get-go (Vortex Viper HST). I started working up loads, and I was shocked to see groups in the 0.300's! I'm still playing with various loads, but mine shoots consistently under 0.500 with Varget Powder, CCI BR-4 Primers, and Berger 64g Varmint bullets! I've since put on a better stock and trigger, but the gun shot under 1/2" bone stock (except for the scope)! I feel pretty lucky, and I'm doubtful that they'd all shoot this well, but I'm waiting for them to get them in 6.5 Creedmoor... I'll take a chance on another if they do!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shooting rifle. I purchased this rifle in a 22-250 after looking at and reading about several others and I have to say I am impressed. I haven't gotten to shoot it very much but after I got the scope hitting close I decided to shoot another and see how close it would put another 1, it was 5/8s of an inch from outside to outside of the holes shooting 50 grain hornady vmax. The scope is a decent scope for a cheap with rifle scope. I did have to tighten the rings up because whoever installed it left it loose on the scope and base, I'm glad I caught that before wasting any ammo. Overall I am very happy with this and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great rifle for a good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tack driver I walked into Dicks to look around. They had the varmit rifles on sale. Bought a 308. Paid less than 300 after rebates. Installed leupold bases rings and 6X24X50 mm varmit scope. Removed stock pad and filled bag inside it with 7 1/2 lead shot and reinstalled. Gun now weighs 14 3/4 lbs. reason for weight is I have a bad neck and now the gun has virtually no recoil. A friend sighted it in and I have now fired it twice. One deer in the neck at 75 yards and a big buck double lung at 350. Shooting hornady 168 grain amax factory loads. The weight shooting off of a Caldwell bags makes it the most stable gun I have ever shot. This is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. The bag in the stock is for adding weight and makes the gun that much more stable. Great buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the price Got one in .243 that had under 2MOA groups at 100 out of the box. Respectable for a rifle at this price. Got a Magpul Hunter Stock for it a month later to replace the flimsy stock it came with got the group size down to just under 1MOA. Replaced the cheapo scope with a good budget scope and worked up some hand loads. Now I have a .5MOA rifle that shoots as well as my buddy's 2K Kimber Adirondack setup for just under half of what he put into his. The only thing I don't like about this rifle is the thin barrel. When I get more than 10-15 rounds through it at the range the groups open up a lot and I have to let it cool down for a while before I can shoot more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best budget long range build Accurate and fun.... bought it for the barreled action so I could build a long range precision gun overtime but am still able to hunt with it in the mean time with the supplied stock and scope. Easily inletted at home to accept magpul magazines with magpul bottom metal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect California hunting rifle. I bought the 700 ADL stainless in 30-06 from Dicks 2 years ago. I immediately replaced the scope with a Leupold VX3 3.5x10 with Warne mounts and rings. It consistently shoots 1" groups at 100 yards off the bench with factory Federal 180 grain trophy copper ammo. I harvested my first Elk with it last year. I am confident I can harvest any California big game with this setup. Thank you Dicks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal I had been looking for several months for a new rifle, and found this package on sale at dicks and could not believe the price $399 for 30-06 stainless steel with synthetic stock and a scope to boot, perfect for what I wanted...took it to the range had it shooting 1" groups at 100yrds after about 10 shots, very happy and ready for deer season now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from gun functions flawlessly i bought the 700 adl varmint in 223 yesterday and i absolutely love it. the cheap Chinese optic even shocked me. only took 9 rounds to zero the gun. after that was done i was hitting targets from ranges from 25 meters to 300 meters consistently. shooting 4 different kinds of ammo, pmc 55 gr, american eagle 55gr, remington white box 55gr, and believe it or not tulammo steel case 55gr, all fmj. all 4 functioned flawlessly. yes even the cheap russian ammo. all went where i aimed them. i love this gun stock so theres no telling what this thing will do once i do some work to it. i know alot of people hate on the 223 round but dont let that stop you from checking this gun out.
