It's Kind Of Pointless

As soon as you start using the stick, the tape wears off immediately. This either requires constant re-taping because the bottom of the stick has no tape on it - but a mass of tape accumulates on the rest of the stick unless you go to the trouble of peeling it all off! or, you just forget about it and don't interrupt your play. In either case, the bottom of your stick wears down almost as fast as it would without using the tape. So it is kind of pointless to use it! And it creates a mess, both on and off the stick.
