I wore these shoes for about two years; never did me wrong. They took me up the Sierra Negra volcano, and countless trails in the Rockies. However, they are not fireproof. Wore them to a bonfire once, burning ash popped and landed on top of the shoe. Burnt a mean hole right through the gore-tex. Great shoe otherwise!
