Really Wanted To Love It

I have flat feet and overpronate - this shoe definitely didn't feet me well. This is more related to my compatibility to the shoe, but if you have a tendency to roll inwards, this shoe is too soft and wont hold anything. I ended up going with a Saucony Xodus Ultra 4 - fimer, more stable.

I have had them for a month, They are like walking on a cloud, the lace system is not what I normally good too but works well, the fit is good and the first couple times I needed a shoe horn to slip into them. Once they’re on they feel locked on. The sole has great traction and comfort. They are unusually loud on a smooth surface mainly due to the soles contour resembling smooth suction cups

More Cushioning For Longer Runs

Purchased these to replace my aging pairs of Genesis, plus wanted the additional cushioning. I have enjoyed them so far, nothing longer than 15 miles or so yet. The traction isn't as good as the Genesis, but they are much softer underfoot. Perhaps if you put the traction of the Genesis on these it would go from 4 stars to 5. I only say it fits narrow because I have extraordinarily narrow feet, and these are some of the only shoes I have found that fit me.

Trail Cruiser

Very comfortable all day cruiser, foam is a little dull for picking up the pace. Very protective underfoot however they skimped on the toe bumper. Best quicklace system out there but I still prefer normal laces for a more dialed fit. Overall a nice lightweight daily trainer for the trails.

From Best To Worst

I have owned five pairs of Ultra Glides, from the original iteration to the present "Version 4." Version 4 are the worst ones. Previous versions provided grip with cushion and saved my feet on long runs. Current version feels like I'm slapping a piece of plastic against the ground until my foot goes numb. I have taken these on ~10 runs so far, middle range 5-8 miles, around 2.5-3 miles each time my feet are numb and it just gets worse from there. Skip these, go for the gravel shoes.

These are very comfortable and fit perfectly. However the outsoles wear extremely quickly. After wearing three or four times, a number of the lugs on the outsoles have worn or broken off. If this was a race-only shoe, this might be acceptable. I doubt I will buy another pair.

The Best.

So good I got two pairs. Hot take but I love that they are NOT GORE TEX! As a result they are super light and breathable, which is actually hard to find in a shoe like this. The fit is precise and I like the quick lacing system, though the laces are a little long. The midsole is beefy and protective but also very light with lots of cushion. The tread is aggressive enough for most trail conditions but not out of place on mixed routes with pavement and gravel. I love this shoe and I hope they continue making it without gore tex;)

Comfortable Cushy Neutral Foot Position

A great option for a max cushion type daily or trainer. Definitely not for hard surface running. You can hear the grinding of the bottom on asphalt. But as an off road trainer or a daily do all A+. 4 stars not 5 because of color options. Salomon rarely hits the nail on the head with color ways anymore so it’s just something you have to tolerate to get a good product

I was a die hard Saucony Xodus Ultra 1 enthusiast. These are my first Salomon’s. They showed up yesterday at 7:30 pm. I slapped them on this morning and cranked out 25 miles in them. 10/10. No hot spots, tons of cushion. Comfort is out of control. Can’t wait to continue with these and about 5 more pairs!
