Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performance! I have owned the XA Pro 3D for 5 years and I'm still wearing it daily. I originally bought the shoe to use in mud runs (Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, etc) and it performed exceptional. The lacing system is very convenient for getting the shoe on and off during races. There have been no glue joint problems or lacing eyelid breaks. No complaints on the comfortability of the shoe. I never got a blister or had sore feet. In my opinion you really do get your money’s worth when you purchase a Solomon shoe. They are by far my number one suggestion to anybody looking for a high quality performance shoe. Get fitted and get a pair you won’t be disappointed!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good trainer shoe I've been training with these shoes for about 2 months now. They are very good for types of outdoor training and gym work. However, I seem to have a problem with getting a hotspot on the inside of my right foot (arch area) when running longer than 2-3 miles. I've adjusted the tightness and tried different types of socks. They are not as comfortable as the Asics Kayanos for my 5'10", 200 lb, mildly flat with slight pronation stride. Other than that, they have been very good for weight bearing, other cardio and agility training!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Wide At All! In the last 2 years I used 2 pairs of regular XA PRO 3D and they always eventually tore up at the sides because they weren't wide enough, so I was really happy when I found this Wide series and I purchased a pair of them. But unfortunately I'm really disappointed with them because they are NOT wider from my old pair (that aren't wide) and maybe it's even a bit narrower because after a few days of use I got blisters at the side of my foot which never happen to me before so I guess they are narrower... I will not buy Salomon again and will make sure to spread the word that they are not what they used to be and it's too bad because 2 1st 2 pairs I really enjoyed and used them on a daily basis until they tore up...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very durable, supportive, all-use shoe. The durablity is amazing. I've had them for about a month, wear them daily in scrub and desert environment and have little wear on them. Very supportive as well, very well made shoe. The comfort is better than a boot but not quite as supple as a true running shoe, which I expected. That said, they work equally well walking as they do running. I have the non-gore tex version and the breathability is superb. The shoe runs narrow, I bought a half size larger to compensate for the narrow width.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Longer strings You should consider adding LONGER strings on a WIDE shoe, just a suggestion. I almost can't get them on because the strings are so short. Otherwise the comfort is good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Achilles HEAL I bought these and was holding on to them to wear a lot this summer while I wore out the old pair. I only wore them a few places until recently, but now the Plastic has come through the heel area, again. This is the second pair! I bought the current pair while still wearing out the old pair. The plastic on the old pair dug into my heal and I had worn them quite a bit and hoped these would be different. The padding needs to be better or plastic must go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy but run VERY small I am breaking in a pair of Quest 4D 3 GTX size 11.5 for a trek in Oct. I am a size 11 normally, but want room for wool socks. The Quest 4D are very comfy, but they are too hot to wear in summer weather. So, I bought the XA PRO 3D for my summer conditioning in 11.5. I slipped them on, feeling comfortable so far, but wow! When I stood up my toes ended up being too close to the front of the shoe, my right toe was actually lightly touching the toe of the shoe. I played around with positioning the OrthoLite footbeds; hoping there was a weird miracle in these adjustments.... Nope, unwearable. Too big a risk of a lot of pain. I am returning these for a size 12. So, in my experience these run very small, or I got an 11 marked as an 11,5? I would recommend these, but hate to think I need to tell someone they need to order as much as one size up...
