Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thank you for listening! Speedcross 4 in a wide is a dream come true. I have backpacked in the Speedcross for two years now. The tread is the best I've ever used. Mountain-goat good. In spite of the uncomfortable narrowness (for my feet), I stuck with them because I prefer sore feet to sliding down steep spots. Now my toes have enough room. wonderful. Please make this shoe next year with regular laces! Grit gets in the plastic toggle, and it's hard to loosen it to get shoes off -- or hard to tighten. Very bad in the backcountry. I ream out the eyelets and put in regular laces, but what a pain. Real laces will add the fifth star.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not holding up. :-( Bought a pair in April. Wear them running agility with my dogs. They aren't getting wet, muddy, etc., run on some dirt and some turf. Sole is coming detached from body of shoe. At this price they should last longer. Have had this issue with Salomons I wear more often, but after lots of use, but expect much longer lasting quality from shoes I only wear on weekends and in very controlled conditions. Other than not lasting, I do love the shoe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Title? Solomon is a brand I love! I thought this shoe would prove to be the same awesomeness as their name. No...... the tread wore off immediately with normal wear. It was a wore down to nothingnon the bottom. Really disappointed! The shoe is not cheap to replace after Just 6months

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product I invested in these shoes early summer. I was living in Colorado at the time and needed some sturdy shoes to hike in but didn't want heavy hiking boots. I hiked in these all summer and since have traveled all over the world, and they are probably the best investment I've made shoe wise in a long time. Incredible tread.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect shoes for wet and rocky terrain Broke these out last weekend for the first time for a 50k training run -- 33ish miles, 8,900+ ft of elevation gain -- and they were *perfect*. I have wide, square feet and typically wear Altras for the roomy toe box space. But I'm training for a 100 miler on equally rough terrain and I really want something with good grip. Great footing on technical downhills, never felt like I was going to slip on slippery rocky and muddy roots, even when after it started pouring rain. And of course, the quicklace system is awesome. Two thumbs up for sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from definitely more narrow than previous versions I bought this about 8 months ago and finally used them for 1 day. These are definitely much more narrow than previous versions. I never had a problem in the previous versions but these really rub my outer foot. I thought that perhaps this one would need to be broken in. I've never had to break in Salomons before so this was a surprise. In addition to that, I think I may have received a defective one because the arch region of the left shoe, has a design flaw inside to where it feels as though I am walking with a twig glued inside to my arch. I was in more pain that day than I've ever been with any running shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly tough!! Our Speedcross shoes have survived a Warrior Dash, 3 Tough Mudders, 2 Spartan Races and a Savage Race so far and are still going strong!! These definitely hold up to anything you can throw at them and do a great job of keeping your feet comfy and dry while providing lots of support and traction!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Details on specifics not advertised Firstly: I love Salomon shoes. I have two pair and this was my third, which I am returning because the shoe, although designed for mud runs, were very loose on my ankle, even though I had tightened them as tight as they would go on my feet. I have slightly fallen arches, and the arch of this shoe is very high, which was for me, uncomfortable. I also have slightly narrow feet, which makes it hard to find a shoe that holds on to my ankle, but their hiking boots and X-Mission3 shoes do great for me. These just weren't a good fit; fyi for those with narrower feet.
