Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, but has its limitations My girlfriend bought this because we needed an easier way to mount her bike onto my bike rack. Unfortunately, this product does not really work well with wider bike racks like my Thule bike rack and therefore makes it very hard to attach to the bike rack. After 10 minutes of fiddling we were finally able to get it on but I'm not please with how it sits on my bike rack and the difficulty of getting it on and off. Keep this in mind when buying this product because it will only work on bike racks with arms closer together like the ones Saris sells I assume or something similar. The quality seems pretty good and even with our odd way off mounting it to the rack it still held on very well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Oh my Gosh!!! We bought a girls bike in the store and needed this support so it would fit on our bike rack when we transported it home. When we put it on the seat post we noticed the collar was resting against the reflector on the seat post. I was hesitant to leave it like that due to the fact that it may break the reflector. We left it as is because we had to get home. When we got home the reflector was fine, but the clamp had somehow opened in transit. All we could think was this could of easily fallen off the rack. A new bike bouncing down the road wouldn't of been a fun experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does what its supposed to. Like stated above it gets the job done. If you have a bike with center bars that go down in an angle or are off center ie. Women's bikes, mountain bikes, young kids bikes then you can use this to make a straight bar to mount your bikes on your bike racks. Only complaint I have is that even when locked it has freeplay in it to where the notch still has a gap about half an inch when closed, but it still will hold it because it's locked by a pin. It's just odd that they'd leave that much freeplay like that. I've had it for over a month hasn't failed me yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Didn't work for my application Bought this to carry my step-through Diamond Back hybrid on a Thule trunk rack. The clasps at each end did not allow enough bar space for the rack to grab...it is like the rack needed to have it's arms closer together. This adaptor might fine for some applications, but not in combination with my Thule trunk rack. Too bad...it seemed to be well made compared to some others I saw.I would recommend this product, but know that it needs to work with your carrier.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY!!! I got this for my daughters beach cruiser and it was a night mare! 10 miles into our road trip, I heard a loud thud... The top bar adapter had broken into 3 or 4 pieces and her bike fell to the road. The spindles of her new bike were damaged and bent and one of the pedals was crooked!! This ended up costing 60 dollars in repair money.... Please do not buy this rack adapter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Secure!! I bought one for the women's bike we needed to place on the rack. Unfortunately, the way the bikes sat on the rack, I had to buy another bike beam for the men's bike. When both bikes have a bike beam, they sit perfectly in the rack!! Luckily, I tried it while I was in the Dick's parking lot, so I was able to just walk back in and buy another one!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saris Bike Beam Item is generic (a good thing) to fit most bikes.Pros: telescopes to fit most bike racks (mine a Yakima 4 bike - hitch style).Cons: Had to make foam pads to place inside beam clasps at both ends to seat to "eat up" additional open space at clasps - to insure tight fit & eliminate bike movement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Saris Bike Beam Great product, works well....BUT....I had to make foam cushions to go around the clamp areas to "eat up" extra space so Beam would not "walk back and forth" and scratch painted head set/seat post areas. Used outdoor foam pipe insulation (extra thick) to fix this.
