Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy even when taken off road I use this everyday now to bike from the parking lot of my work to the actual building (it is over a mile long and I turn a 20 minute walk into a 10 minute ride). I have to drive a little bit over rough terrain, this rack holds up very well and has not showed any signs of wear. I enjoy the simplicity of the process of loading and unloading the bike. Though, I would really like to have the ratchet adjustment and release levers on the side facing me so that I do not have to stick my fingers in the spokes of the wheels or walk around the bike. I enjoy having the lock built in though it is hard to put the lock pieces in and take them out because you have to use two hands. All in all, i am very happy with the rack when I get it all in place but I might have to add a strap going to the roof of my car for extra stability at high speeds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Second Saris Rack My first rack is the Saris Freedom 2 rack. It's been a great rack, but after purchasing an SUV, I wanted something that tilted so that I could access the back. I looked at ZUAT racks, but couldn't see paying that much for one. I never had any issues with my original Freedom 2 rack, so knew going to Saris for the updated version that tilts would be a great purchase. I had the rack assembled within 30 minutes and it's just as solid as my Freedom 2. I like the fact that it has a built in cable to lock your bike. I will probably use an additional lock as the cable is thin. I like the U section of the rack that secures the frame of the bike. That's a perfect way to lock the bike to the rack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing! Just buy it. After years of using a strap based trunk rack, I made the switch. WOW, so impressed. I did a lot of research and went with the Saris Freedom EX 2. For the money, definitely the best on the market. I have been using it for a few months now and leave it on my car (2016 Honda Civic) 24/7. Super easy to use, great trunk access, and securely holds both of our beloved bikes. Plus it actually looks cool on my car. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value for a hitch mount bike rack. Replaced my Bones 2 with the hitch rack. I painted the car and wanted better access to the trunk. This rack is sturdy and versatile. It tilts away and folds up. It is light for the strength. The bike lock deters the opportunistic thief. I'm getting a heavier lock to make it more difficult. Easy for one person to install and take off. I ride twice a week so the rack gets heavy use. I'm going to add some reflector tape on the bottom when folded up. I wanted the little american flag which is on the Freedom. I'll buy a sticker. This is the best priced rack for the strength and functionality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike rack! I purchased this to carry my son Schwinn Ranger mountain bike on a 300 mile trip to Santa Barbara. I love that the unit is lightweight but remains strong. The bike is secured at freeway speed. I love the tilt feature of this unit. I was able to access the trunk on my 2015 Lexus RX with room to spare.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Rack for e-bikes but need longer support straps Finally a rack that can handle heavy e-bikes. I was searching for a hitch rack that can handle e-bikes weight. I have two of them, one is about 54lbs and one at 62lbs. I could not get anything that can handle them. I found Freedom EX-2 that claims it can handle 60lbs per bike. Took the chance and bought it. I love that it came with locks for the rack to the hitch as well as locks to hold the bikes. Assembly was straight forward. Setting it up on my van was easy as well. I came in to a road block when I was loading my one bike with a mid drive motor. First, the battery was on the bottom tube so it was larger than the usual size. The strap was too short to wrap around it, even if I take the batteries out it still didn't fit. I ended up using a different strap to secure it. Now I have to spend extra buying longer straps for it. The other bike is a DYI so batteries are mounted on the down tube and is not too wide. Next was the mid mount motor sticks out a bit on the left side so I can only mount the bike on the chainring side leaning inside. It would not fit on the left side of the bike. I have not tried it on the other bike which is also a mid drive but that doesn't have the motor sticking out as much. Overall, I would say it's very stable on the highway. It sways a bit left and right but I think it will hold the two w/o any issue. I only road it for about 30 miles so can't judge it on long trips. A very well built rack that can carry heavier e-bikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product! Easy to use. Easy to put together. Easy to load and unload. Love how the rack bolts to the receiver and so the bikes hardly move around at all. Just did a 500 mile trip with the bikes on the rack. All different roads and they sat in place and never had to worry. also like the built in bike lock. If they want them bad enough you could cut the cable. While making stops I did not have a worry. Even after to talking to two bike dealers they never told me about all the great features. IMPRESSIVE bike rack!!!!
