Rated 2 out of 5 by from Love the Gun But.... I love this gun the way it fits the way it swings the way it looks but I have only owned it for a year and it been a savage twice. the first time was for a new trigger I was shooting and it just quit. The second time it was firing both barrels in one trigger pull probably 8 out of ten time I got it back and they replaced the safety the hammers and the trigger so pretty much everything besides the gun itself. the only thing I use this for is trap shooting and it probally has under 1000 rounds through it. hopefully they are figuring everything out on the firearm. The only place that I know to buy this gun with an engraved receiver is at Dicks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Gun So I had been shopping around for a nice over/under to take to the range for skeet/trap shooting settled on a CZ however when looking around I found the Stevens and was amazed by how light the gun was, how much smoother the action was and the price was a lot better than the CZ's. I saw a lot of reviews that complained about the gun double firing however on my first day at the range I put over 500 rounds through it and it only doubled once, and that was when my friend shot it, whose never shot a shotgun before, so I am assuming it was a shooter error where the recoil of the gun pulled the trigger the second time, similar to a bump fire. That was the only time that day it doubled. Also the chokes aren't that great although I bought nicer aftermarket chokes, but for a $600 gun it's hard to beat. Also this Stevens is made by KOFs which is the same company that manufactures the CZ o/u's. It's a great gun for the money, the blue collar of over/unders.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I hope it gets better I bought this shotgun as an upgrade from the cheaper one I bought at Walmart. The first time that I used this one was a horrible experience. After firing the shots, the guns was EXTREMELY difficult to break open. I felt like I was going to break off the lever that releases the barrels. Without shells in the gun it breaks open fine, the problem occurs after the shots have been fired. After 3 boxes of shells (75 shots) it seemed to be a little better, but it might be that I just wanted to shoot. It shoots great, just can't reload easily. The TriStar from Walmart (out of the box) was half the price and had NO issues at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit, finish and function for a reasonably priced gun! This is a beautiful gun, with fit and finish well above its price range. The engraving on the receiver is something I could only find on this model at Dicks. The gun functions extremely well! My first time out with it, I fired 100 rounds of 1&1/8 ounce #8 shot with out any issues whatsoever. The gun is a great weight for upland bird hunting, but you always have the tradeoff of a little more kick with a lighter gun. Make sure you shoulder the gun before buying to make sure it fits you well because as with all european shotguns, they usually come with a little bit of cast-off. This means that the stock angles a bit from the receiver to accommodate a right handed shooter. Mine fit me perfect! With any middle of the road shotguns, you will have your negative reviews...this is an honest review from a person who cannot convince his wife to buy a $3,000.00 shotgun. I love this gun, you will too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gun for the money. Bought this shotgun for trap and skeet shooting. It shoots great and true. My 13 year old uses it with no issues. The version I bought has the silver receiver with beautiful scroll work on it. Out of the box, the open lever was a little tight as was the open action, but after about 300 rounds through it is working great. The only issue we had was running Winchester Super X target shells. They were 2 3/4 shells, but they would get sort of jammed and make the break open action get stuck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a find ! Highly reccomend Looking for a over under to strictly do trap and skeet shooting. I descided to take this one for a spin! The sales clerk said good choice! It looked good , it felt good! It was light! Well balanced! So I bought it. First time on the range ! First shot! Here we go! Bang! Pulverized the clay! The gun fit like a glove! Acceptable and comfortable kick back , the balance was excellent! It did what its supposed to do without hurting me one bit! It’s weight was perfect! I could shoot with it all day! Time and time again shot after shot the gun felt like an extension of my arm! 50 rounds later I was not tired at all! Every shot I smiled and said I really like this gun ! Comparing it to my others? This one is a dream! The other shotguns are heavy! Exhausting! hurt my shoulder and at times my fingers . This Stevens 555 is a winner in my book . My son tried it out and couldn’t believe how good it felt, so natural in the hands. I highly reccomend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall value to performance is great! I bought this gun after shooting a friends! It was very stiff out of the box and hard to open. After about 40 rounds through it it has broke in well. I have hunted a full season (6-7 hundred rounds) with it and had no other issues. The detail artwork and wood is beautiful and has held up well. For the normal guy that can't afford high priced over and under guns I would highly recommend this one.
