Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has many features that meet my requirements I like the manual option it gives me control of the exercise via controlling the resistance. I use it three times a week for cardio and warm up to a 35 min streaching program. It is helping me and I don't have to leave my house plus I am on my own schedule. The AD7 does not take up a lot of floor space so it is stationary a plus. It generates a gentle breeze I like and it makes little noise. I am 83 and the AD7 is helping me stay physically fit thru the winter months and prepared for the spring yard work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Versatile Piece of Equipment I bought this a couple of months ago and I love it. I had an earlier Airdyne that I used for years and enjoyed until I had to give it away. This model is superior to that one. It still fans you as you exercise, which I loved, to keep you cool. It is much quieter than the original. It is also better ergonomically, I feel. It really allows you to use as an elliptical, arms only or bike. I am glad I got it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great exercise bike, but... Pros: Smooth, quiet operation Comfortable, fully adjustable padded seat Versatile three position hand grips with comfortable padding Convenient smartphone slot and water bottle holder Strong breeze that keeps you cool Cons: Hard to read non-illuminated display Unintuitive display settings Incomplete manual with no instructions for programs and settings Assembly problem – Had to enlarge hole before bolt would thread properly I love my AirDyne AD7 because it is a vast improvement over the air resistance exercise bike that it replaced. My old bike was chain drive, had a hard uncomfortable seat that was not adjustable fore and aft, and had just one hand grip position. My AirDyne has a soft, comfortable seat that is adjustable up and down and fore and aft as well, and it has three different hand grip positions with comfortable padding. The pedals on my old bike had to be tightened regularly, requiring two wrenches to complete the task and the noisy chain had to be retensioned when it stretched. The AirDyne AD7 is quiet and uses a rubber belt that is smooth and vibration free and requires no maintenance. The AirDyne AD7 requires more effort to operate than my old bike but it throws out so much air that, unlike my old bike, my face and chest remain dry during workouts, although my back still gets soaked with perspiration. One more plus is the Console that Schwinn has provided. It provides a slot for a smartphone, which is convenient, and also a water bottle holder. I prefer to put my smartphone in the bottle holder and keep my water bottle beside me on a window sill, but as a person who streams Pandora from my smartphone to Bluetooth headphones while exercising, the console is designed perfectly. I’d love to give the bike a 5 star rating but I can’t. During assembly (which took over two hours) I had to use a Dremel rotary tool with a small sanding drum to enlarge one of the holes on the frame before one bolt would finally thread into its tapped hole in the stabilizer. But even worse, the old tech display leaves much to be desired. The non-illuminated LCD display is hard to read unless you are in a well-lit room. I usually ride in the evening after dark and my bike sits in front of a window in a dim room with no light behind me and the display is completely unreadable. I bought a battery operated puck light meant for a closet and put it on a wall behind me and it helps a bit but not much. My old bike was 20 years old and had an unlit LCD display just like my new AirDyne – I’m disappointed that Schwinn has not provided a newer technology in the two decades that have passed since then, the era of dial-up internet connections and flip phones. The store where I bought it had a dozen other exercise machines on display, all with illuminated LCD screens – this was the only one that didn’t have one. But even worse, the settings are completely counter intuitive. I’d love to be able to just see how many miles I’m traveling as I’m pedaling but there is no provision to do so – to display mileage requires manually tapping the display (using ½ mile increments) to choose a mileage goal and then after pressing “START” the display will count down to “0” until the goal is reached. So, if I want to travel between 10 miles and 15 miles, to see my miles traveled I must choose 15 miles, which requires tapping the display 30 times before starting out, and then I must subtract how many miles are left when I’m finished from 15 miles. The other settings are just as obtuse and just as counter intuitive, although I don’t plan on using them since I prefer to listen to music as I ride for a set time each session (around a half hour usually) and the display does at least show elapsed time. Perhaps the reason I find the display confusing and difficult is that I have no idea how to set up the different programs that are available because my instruction manual has absolutely NO information about them. The only reference to them on the page (page 17) that covers the display is a small unreadable image of the display that cannot be deciphered without a magnifying glass. The manual DOES have two full pages telling how the heart rate monitor works but since it doesn’t function without buying a chest strap (not included) this information is useless. I have included a photo of the “Console Features” page so you can see how little information is provided. I went online and found that the online manual includes detailed instructions that can be printed out but it’s disappointing that they didn’t include this information in the provided paper manual. So, only 4 stars for machine worthy of a 5 star rating because of poor quality control on the assembly and a poorly written instruction manual that provides no information about a poorly designed display. But, the bike itself is heavy duty, high quality and rattle free with no slack when pedaling and the seat is solidly mounted. I love being able to get on my AirDyne AD7, put on my headphones and press “START” and feel the wind in my face as I pedal to the tunes as the elapsed time display tells me how long I’ve ridden and how many calories I’ve burned (but not how far I’ve travelled), all without discomfort because of the perfect seat and hand grip design. I’d buy it over again because I just like to listen to music as I exercise half an hour a day to keep my 75 year old body conditioned and I have no interest in using the exercise programs that depend upon the display. And, even when I can’t read the display, I can still see the clock on my wall to know when my half hour is up. An easy to read old fashioned analog clock with a white background and black numbers and hands, bought back when vinyl records were still the latest thing. Some things never go out of fashion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great exercise machine! Bought the AD7 Airdyne last July and decided to try it out for a couple of months before reviewing it. Very easy to assemble. The ride is smooth, the pedals and the seat are comfortable to use. I have been using it 5-6 times a week and I am impressed! I used to go to the gym for spinning class. With this bike, I get workout at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent workout you can control without turning knobs Dr. told me I have a torn meniscus in my knew and shouldn't run. Since I love to exercise, I got this bike. After resting my knee for 3 months and starting slow on the bike, I am now biking 3 days a week AND slowly running again--woohoo, no surgery!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blowing in the wind? You can buy a fan guard that stops the wind from blowing on you while you exercise. They are not that expensive...a few bucks here really makes this bike a winner in the exercise market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect!! I tore my meniscus in my left knee and had surgery. My doctor recommended an exercise bike. This bike is perfect. Adjustable seat height and fan are my favorite features
