Schwinn Coston Dx

I bought this and was amazed. Maybe too easy to ride? I shut the power off and still a great bike! I added a large chain and bag.

Love My Schwinn E-bike!

I purchased my Schwinn E-Bike Hybrid and absolutely love it! Long range, easy to pedal hybrid assist and full electric makes riding comfortable and easy! I bought the small/med, fit me perfectly and I’m 5”11.

Replacement Charger

Someone please tell me what kind of charger do I need to replace the original one? I've looked everywhere for information and even ordered the wrong one. Someone please please help!

So Fun!

I received Schwinn Marshall Adult Electric Hybrid Bike, and am absolutely in love with it! It comes unassembled, with very easy to read and follow instructions. It took around an hour or so for assembly. The color is absolutely gorgeous, the features and the bike in general is just beautiful! It is a beefier bike than a regular pedal bike. It is not overly heavy of a bike, still decent to be able to lift up if needing to haul it to your destination. The odometer is a nice feature, it tells speed, distance, time, and more. The light on the front is very bright and lights the way at night nicely and effectively. The bike works whether peddling or not, as there is a thumb handle to hold down for the bike to go, in order to start going all that is needed is to start peddling and the bike will take off. The seat is comfortable, and nice to sit back and enjoy the comfortable ride. The charger plugs in, and there is an indicator on the bottom of the middle bar, where the power button is located. The bike can go around 35 miles on a single charge, and charging only takes a couple hours before it's ready for it's next big adventure. Top speed is 20mph, which is very acceptable for a bike. Shifting between 7 settings helps for any type of bike riding whether it is flat ground, hills, etc, and is simple with the push of a button on the odometer. This bike is made for pavement or light trail riding, no off roading. Overall I am pleased with this bike and cannot wait to go on many more adventures!

Seating Is Too High

Really nice bike to ride but the seating is too high. I am 5’7” and got the small/medium bike and it’s a little difficult when stopped as my feet can’t reach the ground so I have to lean to one side on my tip toes. I ended up getting a shorter seat pole.

Never Schwinn Again

Worst experience ever the bikes arrived and the UPS man threw them out the back of his truck and drag them up to my driveway upon opening the boxes I found the bikes to be damaged and it looked like they were customer returns from a previous purchase because most of the tape and foam and accessory boxes were opened inside and you could tell that tool marks had been used on the bikes Schwinn never even offered me replacements when they came to pick them up they were abused being put back onto the truck even after I took a lot of time to re-box them and make sure that they were as safe as I could make them. I would’ve expected a lot better from Schwinn I’ve worked in the industry for five years now and I have never seen bikes come to the store boxed like this, unfortunately I have four other Schwinn bikes that I have to stare at every day even though Schwinn has scorned me. These bikes are $2000 plus and they should be very well packaged and handled accordingly

Garbage, Hard to believe this bike is over $2000

I Can Not Afford

it is to expensive for electric drop down the price tannks

Overheats

The bike arrived on time and was easily assembled, however; the motor overheats after a short ride and it struggles up hills. Customer service is sending a new motor but we will see if that solves the problem. Very dissatisfied.

Riding A Bike Is Fun Again!

PROS: This bike let my inner 1980s child out so she can ride the neighborhood with a smile on her face again! Look out neighbors! I’m riding! My 40+ year old self is plus-size & I’m having knee issues after a small accident. My heavy beach cruiser from a different company was a beast to try to push uphill & really made me not want to ride it on longer trips, especially if the trips included hills. This bike makes bike riding for fitness at my level very possible with its five levels of pedal assistance & the throttle helps when I inevitably have pain in my knees. I’m also in love with style! The LEDs that run along the bottom of the frame really stand out in low-light situations & at night. I love the headlight & taillight that are both powered by the bike’s battery. The step-thu Coston DX looks modern in how the frame is designed. And that price! The bike plus an extra battery still cost $500 less than a similar bike by a different brand. CONS: I am stubborn & will not return the bike because it’s technically too big for me. My legs have to be fully extended straight on the downward pedal when sitting on the seat at its lowest height. I am just under 5’4” & bought the Small/Medium size. My boyfriend is 5’7” & it fits him better. I have seen different reviews & specs saying this bike could be used by someone 5’1” & up. They are wrong. I’d recommend only getting this bike in the Small/Medium if you’re 5’7” or taller. I’m giving it four stars instead of five because I really wish they made this model more inclusive for people of smaller stature. TIPS: Buy an extra battery! My neighborhood rides are great on one charge of the battery it came equipped with. I bought an extra battery capable of up to 80 miles on a single charge & don’t regret that decision. I live with someone who has put together a lot of bikes in his day, & we still watched the YouTube video Schwinn has available. I found the video to be really helpful & east to understand which made it easy for us to put the bike together. I recommend two people work together on the assembly because it is a heavy bike. Last tip? The seat goes down further than you think! In summary, this is a great electric bicycle for the price. You’ll love cruising around on it. Do be aware that it will not work out well if you’re smaller than 5’4” & really should be at least 5’7”. And watch that video on how to assemble it! Have fun riding, fellow Coston DX owners!

Very Nice Bike. Our First E-bike

I purchased for my wife who is 5'6". The bike is actually a little tall for her even with the seat as low as it can go. I purchased a shorter seat and that seems to address the height issue. This may sound silly, but I didn't know that the battery had an on/off switch and after the first day of use where I initially charged the bike, was confused because the on/off switch on the handle bar did not turn the bike on. So I plugged in the charger thinking maybe the battery was not properly charged. All the battery lights lit up indicating it was charged so I tried the on/off button on the handle bars again which worked. Next day some thing so I called for Product support and they told me about the on/off button on the battery. I don't recall seeing that in the owner's manual . . . so could just be user error but perhaps it could be made a little clearer in the instructions. Finally, not about the bike but the price . . . I purchased on about July 17, 2022. The bike arrived around July 25th and when researching the above on/off issue, i noticed that the price had been reduced by $200. I contacted support to request the reduced price and was told NO. That is not the way most retailers handle situations like this. So that left a little bit of a negative taste for us. But the bike itself seems very good and we purchased because of our long history with the Schwinn brand.

Too Big For A Short Girl And I'm The Minimum Height.

I need to return. Bike seems huge and I'm 5'4". straddling it the seat is poking the middle of my back. the bike is tall. it's a bummer.

Broken Throttle

Well, we are off to a rough start. I’m having my bike assembled by a reputable bike shop here in town. We ran into a throttle that was not working. So, Schwinn is sending the new throttle to the bike shop. So, I will let you know when I get a chance to ride it.

Too Big For Me!

This bike was returned. The seat was not adjustable enough to meet my needs.
