Disappointed In Assembly/quality

Bought this bike for our teenage son, at first ride noticed the derailer was not shifting properly and returned the next day to have Dick's check assembly and tuning quality. It was ready to pick up in a few days. The bike pro showed my son he had to hold down the shifter for a few rotations to allow chain to catch and not pop off. this has never been an issue with previous bikes with click shifters, but we went with it. He rode it around at home and found that it would not shift into 1st gear at all. When we brought it back and discussed the problem, we chose to return the bike. It was an excellent fit and this is not our first bicycle, could not see paying this much and having to take to another bicycle shop for repairs/parts on a brand new bike. Dick's could not make it right.

Great For Recreation

Just purchased this bike and gave it a spin a few times. This is an excellent bike if you're a casual bike rider, take it from someone who has been an ardent biker for 30 years. The ride is smooth, the frame is sturdy, and the Shimano gear and brake system, well it's Shimano. This bike is NOT made for rugged mountain biking or speed cycling. Frame is great so you can always modify the wheels and break systems if you need something more sturdy. This is a recreation bike that you can go on light trails, sidewalks, and roads. Perfect as a commuter bike. This is my family bike. I have more expensive mountain bike I use for trail riding. Highly recommend if you need a commuter bike or just want to enjoy the casual open road.
