Schwinn Makes Garbage - Skip It

Bought this less than a year ago and it’s hot garbage. The guy at Dick’s who “set it up” had no idea what he was doing. I had to take the bike to a local shop for adjustment just to get access to all the gears. Even then, it wasn’t great. The bike is heavy, the ride isn’t great, and the crank recently started making a repetitive sound like it’s falling apart. Oh, and if you put any kind of real torque on the pedals, the chain departs the chat. Do yourself a favor and DON’T buy this bike!

Good Value For The Price

Good bike for the cost. My son is using it to get around his college campus and it's perfect for that.

Great Bike For The Price

I bought this bike about a month ago for my teenage son. It’s been a great purchase. The quality of the bike is great and couldn’t beat the price. No complaints or issues at all.

Brought bike in to be assembled. No one could do it. Then they had someone come from Orlando and still my son cannot use bike. This is the worse experience I have ever had.

Great Bike My Daughter Loves It

So glad I went to dick’s and bought this bike for my daughter. Always great prices and the gentlemen that serviced the bike before we could take it home was GREAT!!! Highly recommend Dick’s if you need anything

Great Ride

My husband really likes this bike, which replaces a 20-year-old one from Dick's, and he didn't realize how much farther he could ride with a good bike. The Arlington Heights location did a great job putting it together, but there needs to be a better systemic way to communicate when it's ready to be picked up. I got an email saying it was ready, so my husband left work early to hike it over there - about 45 minutes from home with traffic - only to find it wasn't ready. Majorly bummed, but they made up for it by doing a first-rate job on it the first thing next morning and calling us to tell us it was ready. Overall, it's a very good bike for a great price.

Carter

This review is not for the bike. It’s for the employee that got me together. Carter at the DSG in Chesterfield, MI. Great kid. Put my bike together and made sure I didn’t leave without doing a thorough inspection. If anyone at the DSG in chesterfield see this give that man a raise.

Perfect Fit!

Purchased this bike for my son. He researched the features and size he wanted that best fit him. This bike checked all the boxes.

Don’t Buy It

Bought the bike to ride around with my kids rode it 2 times barely just not well built and they don’t take returns don’t waste your time buying a bike at Dick’s

Do Not But

After 2 years and a couple hundred miles, I came back to write this review. It was a pandemic purchase that I’ve used for both commuting and taking some 30-40 mile rides on bike paths. My reasons for the do not buy are -Chain endlessly slips under torsion. Like others have pointed out, there’s something with the left gear shift where it won’t click into place unless you jump several shifts. However, you get either a) quad busting torque required or b) essentially gear 1. I have to like in gears 5 or 7 because 6 never holds and anything lower means I might as well be walking. -handle bar grips will need to be twisted back into place every couple miles -this bike is HEAVY. do not plan long rides with someone who wants to really go.

Very Dissapointed!

Within my first 30 min of riding I experienced safety issues. Called the store and was told there is only a 1 day warranty. Ridiculous!

Its A Great Value For $450.

I bought this to replace my 25 year old schwinn high plains 26 inch mountain bike. The standpoint looks just like my "old school schwinn" except that it has 27.5 inch wheels so its stands taller and meaner. The front shock forks are fantastic for smoothing over bumps. My old bike did not have front shocks. I really like the higher end GT model thatDicks sells for over $600, but to sit in my barn and get ridden 4 or 5 times a year, I could not justfy the extra $$$. Compared to the Nishiki, the Schwinn is much better quality.
