I have bought various sizes over the years, but I find the 6 oz is the sure fire in just about any condition. Pros -will hold the bottom on even some of the roughest days. -will hold bottom with big baits in current. -in tandem with a sinker slide, even good for small baits. -pretty much a must in some form or another. Cons -the beads which are supposed to keep the legs in place never stay on and often are misaligned. They still work without but definitely makes the legs break away easier. -sometimes line gets wrapped in the legs but legs are VERY much a necessary evil. Pyramids just get dragged in any kind of current, especially on the long cast. Overall, if you surf fish in any kind of strong currents, rough surf, or big baits, you’re going to need them or prepare for a mountain of frustration as your lines tangle and you have to recast 1000 times cause your baits are washed up on shore.
