I travel extensively and umbrellas are always a dilemma. I hate, hate, HATE having the extra weight in my bag if I end up not using it. I hate even more getting soaked when out and about. I'm something of a poncho aficionado but sometimes I forget to pack the poncho. This umbrella is unbelievably light and small, while still having great coverage. I haven't tried it in windy conditions yet but even if it breaks it is such a perfect umbrella that I'd rather just repair it or buy another one vs. having to haul a regular-size umbrella in my tiny carryon (I'm a carryon only devotee). I've bought several for holiday gifts for friends and family this year. This thing is GREAT. I do wish it came in more bright colors - a great way to lose an umbrella is to have a black umbrella, and I'd love one in red or yellow or orange.

It is very difficult to put the umbrella up and down. It is also a lot smaller than I thought it would be

Purchased on Alaskan cruise ship for our trip and other traveling. I loved that I could put in pocket or small daypack. But now the handle fell off (it's not cracked) and won't stay on and for the life of me I cannot get it to open fully. I've probably used it fewer than a dozen times. Never received receipt as charged to cruise expenses and of course no store name from ship so guess I can't utilize the lifetime warranty. Great and handy idea but disappointed it's unusable...like today when it started raining on our day trip! Got a little wet!!

I love how light and compact it is, but during a torrential downpour I discovered that the seams do leak. It's also not the most sturdy umbrella. Fine for emergencies but that's about it.
It is very small and light ,which is why I bought it. It also seems to be well made. I have attached it to my backpack Hands-free operation when I hike. It rides well on the back but I have not been out in the rain yet.
