“Disappointing Match Ball Purchase And Return Experience” (Picture Not Accurate, Replica Ball, Says Fifa Basic Not Quality & Harrassed During Return.)

I recently purchased what was advertised as an official match ball from Dick’s Sporting Goods. When the ball arrived, I immediately noticed several concerns. The ball was marked “Replica” and carried a “FIFA BASIC” designation, which was not shown or clearly represented in the website photos. The official match balls I have previously purchased do not contain those markings. In addition, the ball arrived with black marks, visible scuffing, and stitching that a lready appeared stressed enough that I questioned whether it would even survive a few U18 matches. Since I coach multiple competitive teams each year and regularly purchase high-end match balls, I am familiar with the expected quality standards. The most disappointing part of the experience occurred during the return process. The store clerk publicly commented that the unopened ball “looked used,” which strongly implied that I had played with it and attempted to return it dishonestly. I found that accusation inappropriate and unprofessional. I calmly responded that this was the condition in which I received the product and requested to speak only with a manager. After that, the return was processed. This a truly negative experience involving returns at Dick’s Sporting Goods. I have previously purchased four Champions League match balls without issue, so this stood out. What concerns me most is: * The product received did not match the expectations created by the website images. * I lost time waiting for delivery and making a return trip. * A paying customer’s integrity was questioned in public over a defective or misleading product. I coach four teams annually and purchase equipment regularly throughout the year. While I may be only one customer, experiences like this directly influence where I choose to spend my annual budjet on soccer equipment and team-related purchases. At this point, Dick’s Sporting Goods has moved to the bottom of my preferred vendor list. I hope this feedback helps improve both product representation and customer service moving forward.

Received Used Ball Without Original Packaging Twice

Twice now I have been sent a used ball, without any sort of original packaging. Unbelievable. 2nd time they sent the wrong ball even, it's the newer one. Both marked up and used. The new one is lopsided. Do not buy from here unless you want a used, marked up ball. And maybe not even the correct ball.
