I bought my first Vanguard 2.0 Epic a couple of years ago, to upgrade from my Amped Epic (which I loved as a 'starter' paddle). I only switched because the reviews of the 2.0 piqued my interest in more control. It literally transformed my game, though sacrificing power (not my game) for much better touch on my dinks and lobs. I realized I had worn enough grit off the surface to warrant a new paddle. I've looked at the Power Air, but this 2.0 Epic is still the paddle for me. It's all around performance is 5 Star in my book.

Incredible Difference
I only began playing pickle ball two years ago. My first decent paddle was the Onyx Z2. I liked that paddle a lot when I first got it, as it gave a good pop on the ball as well as power. As I continued to play and learned more about the game I found that paddle lacked the control I was trying to get. I bought the Vanguard 2.0 Epic about a month ago and the more I play with it, the more I love it. It provides ample power as well as providing the control and direction I was hoping for. I don’t consider myself to be a great player but I do feel my game has gotten a lot better and it opened up another layer of play for me.

Only issue are the handle edges under the grip. They are uncomfortable and need some level of padding to bring the top and bottom “void”, between the handle sides, to the same level as the handle sides. Hard to explain - but a truly uncomfortable handle especially for small hands. Do not want to build the handle up.
