Rated 5 out of 5 by from OUTSTANDING I bought the 10 footer about 2 months ago and have already landed some 40+ lb blue catfish and the rod held together plentyful...and just when I thought It couldn't get any better, I had a bass fisherman run over my line with his boat -_- and carried out my line about 75 yards bending my rod more and more... amazingly the tip of my 10ft rod came just inches from touching the ground from orginally standing straight up in a pole holder!! and IT DID NOT SNAP I yelled for the bass fisherman to stop. he did, untangled my line and my pole is still in perfect condition today. I feel like I probably could've reeled in that bass boat with this rod lol! simply outstanding!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all around pole Got the 6'6" model a few months ago as a present. I coupled it with a 5000 reel and 30 lbs braid . I have used it on everything from Redfish, Snook, and small Tarpon, to Fresh Water stuff like Gar, Snake Head, Bowfin, and all kinds of Bass. I have to say; since my first cast, I felt I could catch anything on it. Its stiff, yet very reactive at the same time. The stainless Loops and the Foam Handle feel like good quality. I hope I don't break it, but if I do, I would definitely get another one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible rod I have many ugly stik rods of all sizes and have always been pleased with them. I have several 15 footers and I wanted another one. When it arrived it had metal eyelets. None of the others have these metal eyelets. Although I was concerned I figured they knew what they were doing. I throw long and hard with the 15 footers and every time I use this new one the end eyelet cuts my line. These new eyelets are junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for. 7' medium/2 piece Rigged it with Shimano Sahara 4000FB. Made catches more exciting off NC piers. Plenty sensitive rod. Strong. Enuff reel to pull in average fish that I'm likely to get on. Very satisfied. My 3rd Ugly Stik.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toughest rods on the Planet We have used the 9 foot Bigwater spin rods for several years at Christmas Island for casting poppers for giant trevally, yellowfin tuna and wahoo. The rods work very well for that purpose and they just hold up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 2 piece rod gets stuck together An ok rod that is needs more backbone. The tiger or tiger lite series are much better with more lifting power. What really bothers me about this rod is how easily the sections get stuck together because the ferrule ends are not smooth, but rather a bit unfinished and ridged. This frankly is a bit of a design dfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty! No problem handling sharks up to 150 lbs while fishing from the shore.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from wrong lure rating I purchased the 12-foot version and on the website, it says 2-12 ounces and on my rod, it says 3-8 ounces. Also, the place where the 2 pieces join was scratched and worn out when it took it out of the box.
