To Unreliable

On a perfect day I would rate this a 10. However, it almost never is. The crosswinds alone are enough to ruin the way this is designed to work. The wind assist are a gimmick. They do not help at all. It simply sags down which is just as annoying as it not blowing. It is extremely frustrating dealing with this thing. I live at the beach so my review is based on about 2 years of using it almost dailey 8 months out of the year. It falls in your face and blocks your view constantly. The colors and the quality are amazing & the company itself is awesome but the product is a huge expensive let down. It is light weight, super easy to set up and looks fantastic but none of that is relevant when it's not providing the shade you need. I had to buy a Neso to use 50% of the time because the Shabumi is to unreliable.

Sunrise No Sunburn

Great product have the ocean tent I loved the Sunrise color so I just had to get it. I can't wait to try the two colors together on Tybee Island. Got alot of compliments on the Ocean tent.

Really Struggled As A New User

We have seen these used at beaches for years and finally made the investment (which was more than I had hoped). We brought it to Hilton Head Island and were excited for our first day. We struggled to keep the ends from hitting by elderly mother over and over or even maintaining loft. We were then excited the second day to give it another go but it was worse than the first day. We decided to use the “no wind bags “ but they did not help AT ALL. There were 3 other users nearby all struggling and moving and truly all unsettled. A couple beside us said that they laugh watching users constantly moving g and trying g to navigate the wind. About an hour after we rented an umbrella so my mom could have shade the wind finally cooperated and we were able to get coverage for 2 people. I love the concert and when it is working perfect ally it is great but I am finding that is unfortunately less often than I imagined. I am disappointed especially due to the investment.

Quick And Easy

We love our shibumi, we can have it up in less than 5 minutes and the wind assist makes all the difference! Highly recommend!

Windy Fay

Went to the beach on a somewhat windy day for the first time with my Shibumi. Worked great and stayed in place while the people next to us ended up chasing their umbrella. My brother and sister in law are now going to order theirs.

Wanted To Like It

As much as we wanted to like it, the Shibumi Classic shade just didn't work for our circumstances. We purchased it for a trip to St. John, USVI. We tried it on 3 different days on 3 different beaches and it was a frustrating failure every time. The issue is that the shade requires a consistent wind direction. I'm sure that on a wide open Florida beach where the wind direction is relatively constant, it would work fine. However, on Trunk Bay Beach, Cinnamon Beach, and Maho Beach, they are somewhat protected bays with trees all around. The wind tends to swirl in those bays and changes direction every few minutes. The shade would work for a few minutes, then when the wind changed direction, it would fly back the other way and ultimately get tangled. We tried using the sand anchors without success. The wind would just blow the shade down into an un-usable space (almost like a vertical wall that didn't provide any shade whatsoever). Unfortunately, I can't in good conscience recommend this product. Everyone else who had the more conventional shades on the beaches had no problems.

I Do Not Understand Why People Like These

I’m baffled by the number of five star reviews. This thing is not as easy to set up as any other beach tent, the sandbags, even when they’re packed full of wet sand, move with the wind and every time the wind changes direction, which is frequent at the ocean, you re-position it.

Love it! It was perfect for our trip to Bermuda- light to pack in luggage and it was so easy to set up on the beach! It’s quite the attention getter too!

Shibumi Review

Easy to set up especially by yourself. The color is fantastic in that not many people have the coral/sea green color so it’s easy to find on the beach. The wind assist came in handy when there was minimal wind on the beach but still provided a wide shade coverage. 10/10 would recommend.

No Wind No Shade!

First day at Huntington State Beach Park was not a success! But as they say if st first u don’t succeed try try again. Maybe tomorrow there will be wind!
