Love The Shade!!

Love how easy it is to set up! And how compact it is! Highly recommend for anyone who loves the beach as much as we do!

Better Than Any Umbrella

I love it. It packs down into a small, easy-to-carry bag. There’s room enough for several people, chairs, and a blanket or two. I’m a Carolina native living in California and so happy to show off this awesome product made by Carolinians!

Relaxing On The Beach Couldn't Be Easier!

Beginning with the lightweight compact design, moving to the simple yet brilliant set up, and finishing with the equally easy take down, this shade is worth every penny? We previously have used a pop up tent-like shade that worked, but it is bulkier, heavier and takes more steps to set up. Add in the reduced air circulation compared to the Shibumi and it is clear the Shibumi outshines any other shade we have used at the beach.

We Have Both Sizes!

Some of our favorite snorkeling spots in Hawaii are short on shade and what shade is available is often in high demand. Being able to set the Shibumi Shade up virtually anywhere there is sand has extended the time we can spend on the beach and gives us the freedom to spread out beyond the traditional limited shade spots. We use the Mini for my wife and I and the full size shade when we have visitors. I like the Mini because of its smaller footprint and less imposing space requirement. There have been many days where the Trades are blowing traditional beach umbrellas inside-out or forcing their owners to physically hang on to or take down their shade devices, while our Shibumi streams securely from its arched pole. Thumbs-up!

Best Beach Shelter Ever!

This is the 2nd Shibumi shade we’ve bought. We had a larger group going to Port Aransas TX this year, so we had both up next to each other. The Shibumi sets up quickly and folds up small and is light. We started using the Shibumi over 5 years ago and didn’t see many others. Now they are pretty popular and for good reason!

Best Beach Shade

The Shibumi Shade is the best beach shade out there. And the simplest to use. They even have Wind-Assist anchors you can purchase if the wind isn't blowing hard enough or at all. Don't waste your time and money with anything else. Invented right here in North Carolina. Easy to carry and set up/take down. We have the large one and bought the mini for a raffle prize for the golf tournament I help run.

Used the shade for our trip to Florida. It was so easy to setup, provided a lot of shade, and stood effortlessly in the wind!

Wonderful Sun Shade!

I purchased the Shibumi after buying another beach shade. The other shade was very difficult to put up and then blew over several times. I ended up leaving it at our Airbnb. I had been looking at Shibumi but was hesitant because of the cost. I am SO happy that I ended up w a Shibumi classic sun shade. It is extremely easy to put up. The shade is light weight and packs well in my suitcase. We have used this on few beach trips and I love it! It is so worth the money!!! I have even had people come up and ask where I purchased. If you are on the fence about purchasing.....do it! I also love all of the new colors available.

Best Invention!

I bought the Shibumi in January 2026 and could not make a review until I got to the beach in May.... This is one of the best “beach umbrella” ever! It was so easy to put together , see which way the wind is blowing, put the sticks in, fill the bag up and you’re good to go..... made this investment and it will pay off the second time we use it! And so light to carry! What a genius idea!!

Our Beach Experience

Loved how easy it is to set up.We went to Surfside Beach SC it’s a small beach. My family had wanted one of these for a couple of years. The proudly put it up talking about how easy it is to do. They all seat down. They put it in a row with the other beach goers. They all had umbrellas. About fifteen minutes later a person in a four by four told them they would have to move that noise to the dune line. My grandsons were embarrassed. We used umbrella rest of week. Guess we will go to a different beach from now on where this will be welcome.

Small Shade

Everything as advertised! Easy set up. Great shade and no chasing an umbrella

Big Rectangle Shade

Works as advertised. Does have string in front holding it down didn’t bother my wife . If wind changes direction you must reposition it. Very easy to carry and set up. Better than umbrella.
