Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best reel for $99 My friend had this reel rigged up with 15lb power pro on a 7'6 calico jack. I fished with the set up for about an hour and was in love. Smoothest, lightest, most comfortable fishing I've ever had was with these items. This reel is a HUGE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. Do your research, there's no reason not to get this reel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and smooth I bought this reel to put on my lightweight fishing rig. I do alot of inshore backwater salt fishing and most of my reals are 13oz's plus to handle heavy bites and change in tides so I needed something lighter but with some serious drag and with 20lbs max on the 3000 it fits the bill. I was skeptical because I am used to metal body reels. I took this out A couple times and it was flawless. The reel is super smooth and upon testing it before loading full of mono I could get almost ten seconds of free spin, something that my full time salt rigs can't match due to all of the seals I am used to. It is fatigue friendly weighing only 8.8 oz's. It doesn't sound like much but try flipping a 16 oz spinner for an hour and you will be able to feel the difference. No flex in the reel on heavy bites and it is very balanced by design which is often overlooked on heavier reels. A few things to be aware of 1.) the line capacity is a little short but this is mostly for freshwater and retention wall inlet fishing so it doesn't bother me. 2.) the handle is a pass through style with a screw cap for fastening, it doesn't attach directly to the gear my guess is that this is to save weight. The reel is overall a good piece of equipment from what I've seen and it IS a ton of reel for the money packing many features in a mid-class reel. It is a good bang for the buck model and you probably won't be disappointed. I would recommend it over reels in the 60-70 dollar range and you can pick this up with a coupon for a little over that amount. I like to invest in a quality product and I am hoping to get many years out of this little guy. You will be hard pressed to find a stronger quality reel in such a small package.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth I just bought this reel and im in love i have it on a medium heavy Penn squadron II. I use this reel for pier fishing and for jacks and snooks. I bought the the 4000 series and the max drag is 20 pounds its perfect for Tarpon, Snooks, and jacks. This reel is great for a bait rod i rate this 10/10 for the price and 9/10 for the reel. I would never put mono on it because it cant store a lot. You don't even have to do any research.
