Rated 3 out of 5 by from okay knee support I purchased this knee support to help with my knee pain when i hike long distances downhill. I wore one on each knee when I hiked up to Mt Baldy Summit. On the way down my Knees were screaming!!! I had already taken Motrin 800 halfway down. Perhaps I didnt take the motrin early enough BUT that would only tell me that it was the Motrin that helped ease the pain. I wore them again when i hiked San Bernardino Peak and my knees didnt ache once on the downhill. However, I did take motrin 600 before the hike and at the summit. I will continue to wear these braces on every long hike along with ibuprophen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great brace! This is the 3rd one of these that we've purchased. Some velcro wore out on the 1st after 3.5 years; #2 is still in use; #3 is for when seasons overlap so he can have one in each bag. My 16yo had a sever case of osgood-schlatter disease & has needed a patella brace for the past 5 years. He is a 3 sport athlete (soccer, hockey, tennis) and uses it for all three sports. He would be in constant pain without it. He really likes to be able to adjust the pressure to the patella independently of the pressure to hold the brace in place. This brace is superior over the others he tried when he was first diagnosed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product so far. I bought this item for my boyfriend who had ACL surgery and meniscal repair back in July 2012. He is currently rehabilitated and has been discharged from physical therapy. Currently, eight and a half months later, he is playing basketball with a league and wears this knee support to guard his patellar tendon. With the padding being there, it provides comfort in the case of bumping knees with players on the court, as well as somewhat of a stabilizer for the knee. Also, it wears comfortably and doesn't obstruct movement. He has only been using it for just over a month, so durability is yet to be determined.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well enough It works well to support my knee, but I'm not so sure about the design and quality. The stitching seems to be coming apart slightly; not yet enough to compromise the structure, but little bits of thread are sticking out everywhere. It's also a bit of a pain to put on, as you have to thread a velcro bit through a hole that has the other side of the velcro in it. So it keeps getting stuck, but it's really not all that bad. Just wish the design made a little more sense. Not sure how long it will last, either. Not bad overall, but deducting one star since I think it could be better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shock doctor product low This product was very difficult to get on my knee with the method of attachment. It seemed like it should be much easier than they made it. Once on, the strap then stuck to my running pants due to it's dual sided attachment nature. I was hoping this product would cure my runners knee. Instead it injured my IT band and now I am out for a good month in prime training season. This is the second product from Shock Doctor I have purchased and frustratingly returned. No more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes it works! My 14 yo son has a particularly bad case of Osgood-Schlatter. He uses the brace for soccer, running and hockey dry land training. He really likes the adjustable tubular support feature to give him the support he needs without the whole brace being too tight around his leg. And the brace stays in place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Works I have used this product for about 2 months. I had previously injured my knee doing squats and hack lifts on a Smith Press. Since I have used this product, my knee has healed up. On my last workout, I forgot to put it on and my knee told me "something's not right here". By the way, do not use a Smith Press for any leg work. The angle of the rack may be very different from your natural linear motion. In addiction to using this support strap, I have been using the free bar for all of my lifts. Don't get the "cheaper" version. The velcro on the straps fails quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feels great! Purchased this for runner's knee/ patellar tendonitis and it has reduced the noticeable pain. The ability to fine-tune the tension allows for readjustment for comfort. I'm a nurse, I workout, I'm on my feet. This has helped me stay on my feet.
