Rated 5 out of 5 by Crusty982 from Shoreline Marine air horns Definitely may seem kind of strange but my chief purpose for these air horns is not for boating, or sporting events, but to chase the neighborhood squirrels out of my buildings and this seems to do a very good job at doing just that. These devices are very loud, they are not toys, they do have a listing of 120 dB and they can cause irreversible hearing damage if you're not at all careful. Simply Dicks had the best price I've seen other brands in other venues that are quite a bit smaller in size selling for the same kind of monies! To me it's rather ironic that a can of compressed air along with the plastic horn that's of course attached that these guys can go for so much money.

An air horn is meant for use in emergency situations, and this DOES NOT WORK!]. I actually bought this to take on by bike rides in case I had to get the attention of a car or scare off a dog. One day a dog started chasing me, and I tried to use the air horn to scare it off. When I needed the horn most, it failed. Please don't buy this product if you are using it as a safety device.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Gregor from stopped working after one toot. This unit stopped working after ONE toot on the horn. I was unaware it was a one time use horn or I would not have bought it. Cold air comes out with barely an audible sound. Would return if I still kept the package. Would not buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by gradgirl from Broken when bought I give this particular purchase a huge "thumbs down". It was broken when I got it home and have been to busy to take it back as of yet. I have had 3 people try to get it to work with no success. Maybe it is just this particular one that it defective, but it still stinks that it doesn't work. I will be returning it, but have since lost the receipt, so you should have a record of my purchase since I used my Dicks card.

Rated 1 out of 5 by cheated from Buy a can of mace instead for protection I bought this mini air horn for security purposes for my sister. I bought 2 of them. I opened up the 1st one to demonstrate it for my sister and both of us were very disappointed. That was $9.99 down the drain. The other one is going back to Dick's Sporting Goods store tomorrow. It's a good thing I also purchased a can of mace. I pity the fool that messes with my sister now!!!! If you are at Dick's Sporting Goods store and you are debating between buying the can of mace and the portable mini air horn for security - buy the can of mace. TRUST ME!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by a2d2 from Worked for two blows. Failed the second time I tried to use it, about one week later. The can got cold, like a propane cylinder when it empties.Perhaps the small size can only be used once, like for emergency? If so it should state as such.
