The jacket seems ok but the Classic pockets are not the same. The inside vest pocket is way smaller and the outside hand pockets are not nearly as deep. Had I known that I would have ordered something else. The outside breast pockets are good and seem to match up with the original jacket that I have from 2006.

This is my second jacket. It’s the best rainwear I’ve ever had. I wear 2X so I have plenty of room to layer. Plus then the sleeves are longer to keep hands warm. Wear it everywhere. Great product and I highly recommend!!

Similar to Simms Gore-Tex wading jacket I had for seven years which worked very well. Unfortunately I lost it so purchased this as a replacement.

I’ve been a fishing guide for 40 years and have had several of these Jackets. There the best for about 2 years if you use them in a harsh environment for 100 days a year. But when it finally comes the day you have to wash them even with the proper gore-Tex soap it’s over they start leaking every time. But I will by them over and over.

I wear this jacket over a Barbour Bedale jacket when it is cold and wet. Even though the Barbour is a wax jacket it is not as waterproof as this one and its pockets are not as useful. I have had a SIMMS Guide Jacket for ten years. It is still in good shape but my wife keeps wearing it so I bought a new one. In design it is the same. Good big pockets on the front which takes fly boxes and other gear you need. The side pockets are good for warming a hand. The material is a little stiffer than the earlier one but that is not a problem.

I love the big pockets for fly boxes and the wader cut. The other cool feature is the built in lanyard for nippers in the pocket. My only knock is simms not having enough offerings in the 4x range.
Unbelievable jacket! I fished for 4 hours of down right dumping rain to drizzle and I never got wet! The water just beds up and rolls off. Still amazed that no water got through! Best rain jacket I have ever owened!1

I purchased the classic wading jacket when I took a guiding job in Labrador, Canada. It did not disappoint. I was never wet, even in thunderstorms and the jacket kept the cool Labrador wind out. I especially like the adjustable cuffs that kept my sleeves dry when releasing Atlantic salmon. I wore this jacket every day of the fishing season and I highly recommend it.

I love my Guide Classic Wading Jacket. It keeps me dry without the bulk. The 2 large front pockets are very helpful and roomy. Thanks Simms !

Best rain jacket made! Holds up thru lots of wear and tear! Fleece lined collar is clutch in nasty weather. And the lack of extra pockets is better For that nasty weather as well.

I've had this jacket for several years, use it as a steelhead guide on the Clearwater River. I absolutely love it. I bought a G3 jacket last year and while it's also a great jacket, I find myself still using my old Guide Classic everyday. I just like the way it feels for some reason, and it has been used! I'm 6'1", 215 and the XL fits great, but remember, this jacket is probably 5 years old. I'm guessing I wear it at least 100 days a year.

All in all great wet weather jacket. Sizing is a little off though a medium is too tight in my back all layered up and a large is a little long in the arms. I did get a seamstress to put in velcro for the outer cuff which solved my problem. Love the inner cuff. 5'9" tall 155lbs I wear a large
