Loving Our Smartwool Buys

Very soft very comfortable. Also bought some socks. The socks are best ever!!

Everynight

I love my Smartwool tops and bottoms. I wear them every night for sleep; they've become my pajamas and my household comfort wear in a cold house and on cold nights. Of course. . . I wear them during the winter on freezing cold days as well. I prefer the Navy color, but find that color often sold out. . . so, my second preference is black. The jazzy colors and patterns are not for me. I also wear Smartwool socks regularly. . . and again. . . not just for freezing outdoor weather. The only problem with the socks is that the material pills. . . . but the pilling doesn't stop the warmth benefit.

Perfect For Mn Winter

Used these for a trip to Norway and general use when running Ski Meets. Keep you warm and comfortable.

Love The Red Color

Another great base layer that fits well, and keeps me warm! Also looks good by itself as a light sweater

Great Midweight Base Layer

Great base layer for winter here in Virginia. Midweight, good down to 20 or so. Excellent fit and nice color too. Smartwool products are always well made (and don't have annoying labels!)

Outstanding

Great base layer at a good weight, and it looks good.

Small And Itchy

Runs fairly small, also for being merino wool it is surprisingly itchy, tried wearing a shirt underneath but because it was on the smaller side the under shirt made it more uncomfortable.

Great Base Layer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a gift for my son. It keeps him warm during our cold winters in Minnesota.

Base Layer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Needed a thicker base layer for skiing on those colder days. Perfect addition.

Comfortable And Warm Base Layer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This base layer is really comfortable. It is warm and does not restrict movement. I wish I had found this earlier. Fit is true to size. I'm not sure why anyone would not be happy with this - buy it!

No Substitute For Winter Hiling/camping!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Merino is THE stuff for active comfort in the cold. The key is staying dry between rain, snow, and sweat...it's challenging. 100% (95 and 88 also good) merino helps to achieve this goal. It's warm when you need it to be and water (all types) evaporates quickly to keep you from getting chilled from damp clothing. It's got to be part of a system though, and you have to use that system properly or you will get damp and cold. We just came back from five nights in our tent @ an avg. of 26F at night. After hiking all day in these and then, putting on fresh Smartwool tops and bottoms we were warm all night (we could have stayed in the same set if we had to). Medium weight is probably fine for most applications, but do be sure you've got the right system for the conditions. In summer and spring it's less critical, but in winter (THE best time IMO)...having the wrong gear can make for a miserable experience...and a dangerous one. Smartwool has the added benefit of being able to go in the dryer at home...not all merino products can. That's my take.

Never Leave Home Without It!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it comes to staying warm during the winter, base layers are KEY! My old Smartwool long-sleeve lasted me years of use. Loved my first one so much that when it came to finally replace it, it was a no brainer. Kept me comfortable and warm during winter months of New Zealand, Japan, all the way to the summit of Mauna Kea. I've never had a base layer fit so good right off the shelf. Felt like it I was putting on my favorite tshit. Couldn't recommend it more

Comfortable After Removing The Inside Seam Tags

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are tags sewn into the side body seam on the inside about 5 inches up from the body. The tags are nylon and so it seems like they are hot cut to melt the edges so they do not fray. The melted edges are annoying rubbing against the skin. After removing them. the base layer is very comfortable. Arm length and body length is good
