Great base layer for cooler shoulder season hikes/paddles and more active winter ski tours when you don’t want to sweat through the heavier weight layer. Nice feel and quick to dry.

I snowboard in the Smartwool Base Layer bottoms regardless of temperature. I've never been cold or hot regardless of the conditions.

These are great baselayers, lightweight, I use them more to control sweating than warmth, better than any synthetic I've ever tried.

These bottoms are the perfect layer. I wear them most days in the winter for that extra warm and cozy feel. I work outside alot in the winter going to different building construction sites. When I have these on, I'm warm no matter how cold it is.

I use this for working outside, for hunting/fishing, and for running when the weather is a little more chilly. This layer is thin enough to allow me to work hard and sweat without making me feel like im cooking, but warm enough to be a great winter baselayer.

Once I start wearing long underwear, I end up sticking with it until Spring. . . . sometimes that bugs me but this time, it caused me to buy 4 new pairs. I love the Smartwool long underwear because it keeps its shape wash after wash after wash and (based on some I've had for several seasons) I expect these to last. The fit is great and the shape holds up. More expensive than cheap cotton ones you can find anywhere but these are worth it.

I used these, seasonally, undefr my pants when the weather was cool enough to warrant the extra layer. They offered said warmth in the mornings without being too hot later on in the day. A very nice weight. MY ISSUE: they reapidly developed runs in the thighs and knees the first Sprung I bought them. This winter I pulled them back out and the runs have been getting bigger very quickly- Smartwool calls this regular wear and tear thus will not offer a replacement. So to me- this says they can't stand behind there prodocts anymore either. Thought they used to boast about the warranty?

I walk a lot for work as a wildland firefighter and these are a great base layer for fall and spring work. Breath well and strike a good balance of warmth without overheating.
